New Canon Mid TNG Crew and Uniform Mod

I've already started on the mid TNG uniforms and so far they do not look to bad. i'm going to try them out ingame then post some screenshots. i'll get the uniforms out of the way then i will concentrate on the heads.

In this mod i will be doing the following characters

XO - Commander William Riker
Tactical - Lieutenant Worf
Science - Lieutenant Commander Data
Engineering - Lieutenant Commander La Forge
Helm - Wesley Crusher - correct me if i'm wrong if he's not at the helm from seasons 3.

Male Extra 1 - Lt. Reg Barclay

All main characters will have there own SFX.

If its possible, certainly not yet, a head to suit La Forge's visor might need to be created so i might ask the genious Legacy for his talents, thats if he wants to.  :D

And again this will be mutator controlled

You wouldnt need to do much for Data's head since its already in the game. (From what I understand, it actually was a texture of Brent Spiners face in full make-up applied to the head model).

For the male extra, would you be willing to do Lt, Reg Barkley. Gives me someone to shout at  :D

Like the Voyager mod, I really hope you do justice to the comm-badge as it was always the thing that ruined previous versions. (How hard is it to do comm badges? Ive been wondering for a while.)

I dont have any TNG DVDs but I do know where sound files can be attained when you need them.

Also, I agree, a new model would be needed for Geordis head.

(PS: Dont include Troi! LOL She was always a whiney little betazoid  :lol: )

Up to you though.

i was just going do some touch ups on data's head a little.

for the extra male thats a good idea, i couldnt think of a male i could do

i will try my best for the comm badge. well the first time i tried to make a comm badge i thought i was hard to get the shape and colour right, but after that, it was a toddle.

thanks well when i'm up to that stage for sfx, giv me a bell.

lol i wasn't planning to do that annoying little person, so thats good for everyone. :D

Here you go. remember the head textures i haven't done yet thats why there black. and therefore collars still need doing

Anything like the mid TNG uniforms?

do you think the Comm badge is too big?

Comm badges are a bit big. Making them smaller a bit might also sort out the obvious distortion on Brex's/Geordi's and all other uniforms.

Meaning, if they are a bit smaller, they wont get stretched quite as much.

Also, might just be the angle, but Geordis uniform looks like it has developed a downwards lip or 'dip' on top of the gold bit of his uniform. If you straightend it out a bit like Worfs or Rikers, it may look better.

Worfs belt should be a more silver then blue.

Nice work so far - in my opinion the collars are the most difficult part on these uniforms - the throat of the female heads has been modelled really bad.
The com badge looks a bit like one of these plastic merchandising com badges - it lacks the golden-metallic look - I can?t really explain it, but you might want to try one i have found on the net - I have added it below

I think it still needs to be darkened a bit...

I took that latest picture and made a few quick changes on Geordi's uniform in MSPaint. Something about your version looked a little strange so I edited it slightly to show you what might look a bit better.

(You can the pic was crapply edited by me in MSPaint)

I only did it because I couldnt think up good ways to explain it.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I edited the bottom of the gold bit aswell. It just looked to long from the top to the bottom of the gold bit. Moved the comm badge slightly left aswell.

Its all upto you though. I wont argue with the final result.

Ok, i've binned the ones that i've shown so far, because they didn't look anything like the ones in the show, i'm now in the process in levelling were the black top meets the gold, but since the bodies like to stretch the textures and do all kinds of things to them, its taking longer than normal, so i will try and get an update by the end of the day.

Data's head was so not made for the TNG uniforms. its just awful trying to position the pips and collar

Yea that?s what I was talking about.
If you want I could send you Admiral Liu?s head.
You should open the head files in NIFScope and apply the head textures you?re working on.
You can see every error immediately and correct it.

Oh I dunno. The red and Worfs uniform you made looked perfect (so far).

It was just the Geordi one that looked a litte strange.

the problem was that the black part on all was far to low compared to the screencaps. when i sortened the black, thats were the problems started. thsi was from earlier, as you can see it just mest the level on the black so i've had to manually straighten it out on screen. the .tga black is not straight, but ingame it now is, so its been hell and i still have to do the arms and back.

Hmm, it?s way easier using the EF2 bodies, they even have colar necks modelled.
Perhaps we should get a crew teaser released sometime.

Like before, the black bit looks a little mishapened but you said you'd try and sort that out so im not going to harrass you.

The colar, pips and com badge are perfect.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.
