or just destabilize the tunnel and shut it down.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Well for the first time I got to see "Stargate the arc of truth" thx to scifi.

Not a bad movie imo, ( though the box that was supposed to be the arc seemed kinda cheep )

Next week we have stargate continuum.

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

You know, I think that McKay and Carter have a competition going on.. as in which one of them destroys more solar systems. Then again, Carter did it on purpose, McKay did it accidentally..

Question is, which one of them has the lead at the moment?  I'd say Mckay has  the lead.. first that ancient weapon went haywire and solarsystem went boom, then he nearly destroyed parallel universe with exotic particles, and finally the replicator homeworld blew up.

Will go on forever.

and finally the replicator homeworld blew up.

That was a joint effort between McKay and Carter.

:) oh fine, a joint effort. McKay still has the lead. then again, didn't carter come up with a way to stop the Ori assault? I can't exactly recall the method..

^If we have a smite option, I would have used it for that comment.

Anyway, I like it. Sounds like SGU is going to be a bit like Stargate: Galactica, not that I mind. I liked BSG. :D

My thoughts exactly, though I'm kind of perplexed as to how they can make it work, since there are Stargates all over the place (maybe they just can't figure out how to work the DHD? :P).  Maybe their home is destroyed, and they're looking for a new one (though that sounds waaay too familiar).

The SGU crew end up on a distant ship somewhere in the far reaches of the galaxy. Cut off the Milky Way gate-network (the one which would lead them home), they must ultimately find another means of getting back.

Basically, the ship they end up on is the very same ship which once flew all around the galaxy seeding the stargates on the various planets, and in some cases even in planetary orbits. Will be interesting to see how they pull it off, but i'm not very happy that they cancelled SG:A to make room for the new show.

I am quite curious to see if there are any gate pieces left over. Would be cool to see how the Tau'ri handle that... Can't wait for this show!  :argh:

Thanks, Darkthunder, though Nebula explained that to me over MSN pretty much right after I posted.

I don't think SGA was canned to make room for this new show.  I think it was canned because it started sucking really badly and, consequently, it's ratings fell like a rock.

No that wasn't the reason... From what I heard SGA was canned because of the rising set costs....
SGA's sets were to large to maintain for any longer.

this new series won't count as official spinoff until they a.) meet proper baddie withe glowing eyes, life munching hands or such b.) destroy a solar system or c.) make fun of star wars, star trek and galaxy quest in single episode. :arms:

SGA's sets were to large to maintain for any longer.

That, plus ofcourse the rising salaries for the actors. For every new season, generally the contracts need to be re-negotiated, and each year the salaries tend to go upwards. This was likely Sci-Fi (SyFy)'s way of getting ahead of the contract negotiations and simply cancelling it from the get-go. And thus bringing in cheaper actors for SGU.

I doubt we'll get more than 1 SGA movie, if any.

Ha!  So they put themselves out of a job by seasonally demanding a pay increase.  Oh, the irony!
