That's a good idea Starforce...make it look likes she's been in deep space for awhile being tested on everything space can throw at her.  She is an 'NX", why not make her look like she's been taken on a run for the mill, so to speak.

A little update, not really related to this mod. Specifically, more for Wiley than anything.

My home computer crapped out on me again; the power supply LITERALLY blew up! Yeah, scared the f**k out of me. :/

So I dont know when I'll be able to get it back up, but needless to say, I won't be around much for a while. I am not even sure my system will be operational before I move, and therefore, it may be some time... So, Wiley, keep up the good work. I hardly think you'll need me looking over your shoulder all the time. ;)

Just some things I was hoping to have with the Mithra, for your future notice, if at all possible...

1. Animated Bussards.

2. Different Mithra variants, including:
-"fresh from dry dock" Mithra, with no damage at all.
-"Year Of Hell" Mithra... I thought this would be really cool to see! :D
-The Mithra you have now, with slight damage and "wear-and-tear", as if it's been "put through her paces".

3. 3 Mithra-class ships (or more!), as you see fit. the names I was thinking would be:
-USS Mithra
-USS Serenity (One of my personal favorite ship names)
-USS Archangel

4. I actually have an idea for the bussard, warp coil, and deflector colors. I was thinking a pale pinkish-blue for the warp coils and deflector and a light-ish red for the bussards. It's up to you, so... :)

If you can't do any of this, or it's far too extensive, just let me know. I'll likely be totally cool with it. :)

well your plans are very promising, animated bussards seem to be the hit^^
the 3 versions are also great idea would like to see that YOH^^

OOO, Serenity is an awesome freakin name!

The Mithra Class was actually almost named the Serenity Class. Almost every ship I've drawn or imagined was named Serenity.

You could use a proper name of an archangel instead though ;) : Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Sariel, Raguel, Remiel, Zadkiel, Jophiel, Haniel, and Chamuel.

The class name is staying, but I do love the idea for those ship names, as in the names of the Archangels. Really, though, Wiley's the one to talk to about that. :P

Alright folks, you know already that I'm gonna be gone for a (hopefully)short while. However, I wanted to inform you that I may begin work on a bridge mesh for the Mithra when I "get back in the game". Dj's proved once more to be inspirational, as his bridge mesh has provided me with a couple cool ideas. of course the Mithra bridge will be COMPLETELY different, but... eh. :P

So yes, I expect to be rather busy with the Mithra bridge and the Serenity/Prometheus Mark 2. Heh, and I still can't texture. Maybe when things settle down, I'll get Wiley and JB to teach me their tricks. When it comes down to it, I want to learn to script, too. That way, I could be one of the very few who can do scripting, modeling AND texturing. As much fun as it is to work with other people, I do dislike depending on others to get a job done. So. There you have it.

Several reasons...

1. Poly count.
2. just realized how boxy the secondary-to-primary hull connection is; That, in itself, would need to be re-built.
3. Texture & model detail balance is way off, as previously mentioned... a lot of these details can be textured on, and Ill use those extra polies elsewhere.
4. The methods in which I constructed the Mithra originally were... questionable. I did not construct it component by component, but rather, entirely as a single mesh. This will no longer be the case.
5. Think re-design in the sense that shell look overall the same, but sleeker, meaner, and with better details rather than those strange, out-of-place bevelled armor plates. Yes, she`ll still have armor... just constructed in a much cleaner fashion.
6. I also made a few sketches the other day that helped me get the ideas out of my head. Too bad I lack a scanner.

So, still the same basic ship, only sleeker........sort of like...the last one would be the original 1701 and this would be the 1701-A kind of thing?
