This is probably my last version of the JJEnterprise, because it is my third attempt of building it and it is a very difficult ship to model.

I'm just glad to have this ship in my collection lol. As for reference pictures and what not, I think it would be fair if the thread was cleaned out by a mod of all those. =)

Two things that bug me.
Oh well, the ship has about all the details and main structures that it could have.  Lots of people already like my previous version despite all the inaccuracies.  Everyone should be happy that I made a good attempt to build the JJEnterprise. :)

As a fellow builder of a jjprise, I know what a pain the a$" this ship could be. The trouble is trekies are the worlds biggest nit-pickers.

For me until there are more conclusive plans of the ship this will be the definative version in my books.

Here here! :P

But this new model with new textures...it is truly gobsmacking. I hope to do you proud (hint hint, nudge nudge fellow modders :D).

(aside from the above angle, the nacelles still look too close together...).

I just meant the design of the ship, I didn't mean you got it wrong. Spot on, spot on!

Dude, I don't have to build it to understand what a pain this ship is.  Especially in a game where you don't want to over-use polys.  And also especially when there's a definite lack of reference over all.

All that aside, yeah there are small little nit-picks, but they're extraordinarily minor when compared to the overall quality of this ship.  And you definitely emulated Tobias's style in the textures, and that's not a bad thing.  This ship is, IMO, perfect as is.  Well, mesh and texture wise, anyways.  She still needs an HP. :P  I'm really looking forward to the new version of this ship.  May the wind be at her back. :D  Oh, and cookie. ;)

Incredible job!

Even if the model in the movie is slightly different it doesn't matter because this one is fantastic.

Fantasmic work as always. (Yes, I meant "fantasmic" :p)
The paneling looks a bit... of, to me at least. Might just be the lighting in the renders.
But no more aztecing? :'(

And the deflector seems to be missing something, that little antennae that pokes out (glance at Tobias to know what I mean)

And even with all my nitpicking, I'd still download anything you make Wiley, mad props.

I'll try to not overwrite the old one.  This one uses higher res textures and is high poly wise, and people like the the lower poly one.  I try to keep my ships around 30k polys.

Microgramma Medium (the thinner one) vertically stretched a little bit and used a few strokes for the outlines.

If you want, send me a reference pic via a PM.....don't post it here.  If it was from the newest trailer, that one shows the weird upside down camera angle of the top saucer (some will think it is the bottom).

I think the shot you are referring to is the one with the enterprise approaching the Narada?

Turn your monitor upside down and watch it again, there's no reg on the lower saucer. ;)

Wiley is good, Wiley is right.

EDIT

Damn, Wiley beat me to it.

Are you getting tired of all of the tiny, nitty questions being asked on a model that could not really be any more accurate with the available reference?

My nitpick is the back of the neck section.  It is not very flat, but it does have the right detail including spotlights.  Those model pics from that QuantumMechanix model display really helped.

While the JJEnterprise is being ported for BC, I've started on my next ship.  I'm a little surprised no one has done the true Proto-Ambassador class yet. :)  The engineering hulls between the ships are very similar.
