Nah that's far too much damage. All depends on the era its going to be balanced to.

I think the shield strengths of ID4 alien ships and Federation ships should be about the same.  Here are my reasons...
Quote from: Memory Alpha
A photon torpedo with a 25 isoton yield can destroy an entire city within seconds. (VOY: "Living Witness")

When fired by a Galaxy-class starship without shields at a target in close range, a single photon detonation had a high probability of destroying the firing ship as well. In 2365, the unshielded USS Lantree was destroyed with a single photon torpedo hit. The USS Enterprise-D stayed at a distance of forty kilometers. (TNG: "Q Who", "Unnatural Selection")

I figure that a photon torpedo is stronger than a nuke, but more controllable and with a smaller blast radius yet stronger.  A nuke didn't scratch the surface of the Houston destroyer, and neither can a photon torpedo greatly harm a fully shielded ship.  A direct hit on a city destroyer's hull?  Possibly take out a huge chunk, but only destructive if aimed close to the core.

also, voyager had mark xxv torpedoes with a yield of 200 isotons!

for comparison: gravimetric torpedo is 80 isoton(able to blow up a small planet, said by harry kim)

so is the id4 destroyer able to withstand a gravimetric or mark xxv torpedo?

The ID4 City Destroyer is much like a Borg ship. They can take a pounding and still keep going. The hull will be strong, but standard TNG torpedoes will only do surface/light interior damage. Plus, the ID4 universe is different than the Trek universe.

I've completed the weapon area. The model currently stands at 18.2k polys. Now I've got the job to scale this thing to 15 miles.

Good luck if V'ger was anything to go by.

Don't worry, I've done the math. The ID4 City Destroyer is slightly over 35 Enterprise-E's long. I think it is very do-able.

Well, I'm currently having trouble getting the City Destroyer ingame. It crashes before the quickbattle can start, and I've noticed that its hardpoint fails to load. Any tips on how to fix this? I've also tried to replace the model with another working ship, but it still would not load.

Plus, I really do not want to rebuild a whole new model. But if I have to, I have to. :(

Well, I got it ingame (thanks to Baz), but sadly it is SO small it's about the size of a regular starship. It should be LARGE, about 35 Ent-E's long. Whenever I rescale it in either 3ds Max or Nifskope, the model will no longer run in BC. It crashes.

Can anyone help?

turn the damage off for this model in the script/ship file that may help

how large is this thing compared to the Fed stations already in game?

I finally got it ingame through exporting the nif firt through Max, then importing and re-exporting the nif through Gmax. I might remodel the weapons doors because they look a bit blocky. This ship is HUGE, but it loads fast.

I might make some extra pics whenever I model the F-18s and the biplane and see if I can get POTD.

The instant that ship comes on screen, the entire bridge crew is on their feet, Spock's eyebrow is raised as he says "Fascinating", Scotty begins theorizing what could possibly power that size of vessel, Kirk questions their intent, and then all hell breaks loose.  Generally speaking, that's what'd happen.  :P

Looks very good there Wiley, I don't anticipate flying against one of those.
