I dunno why, but this ship gives off a strong "love boat"-vibe..   I could so see this being the Star Trek cruise vessel for newly weds and such..
Um, no. That would be the Enterprise-D from seasons 1-3. This one is more like a speedboat.

I agree, I had those same thoughts about the design.

Very well done and unique looking. Like what you have done so far.

Made a relatively crude idea in Photoshop of how I meant it. Currently, those "engines" don't look a whole lot like impulse engines. Obviously, you choose whichever style you want, but this edit is merely to visually aid in how I meant it :P

Though crude, but very nicely executed. They look a little too traditional, but it wouldn't stop me from doing a possible variant. I can still add some grilles to the existing engines. I liked a yellowish color for the impulse engines because that is how John Eaves colored them when he drew up ships designs for ST: Online back when it was by Perpetual.

I really love that deflector dish there Wiley!  The impulse looks a little strange straddling the dark and light parts of the hull.

And smart move having the bridge be inside and not exposed.

I really like the design and how it is shaping up. Also the new style of impulse engines are brilliant. Beautiful work. :D

That was Darkthunders concept idea to explain to WC how he thought impulse engines should be.

I've added some more details- random red things, phaser emitter textures, shield grids and more cargo bays. The large gray bits on the underside are either cargo bays or docking panels for starbases. All I have left are the nacelles, speculars, and alpha channels. Everything will look much better once I get some scene lights on the ship.

Like alot of the ideas concerning the impulse engines. I like the yellow-orange design as well.

Personally, I like the way the design is on them now as far as the shape of them. Maybe widen them vertically and add a unique grid design. The Sabre Class impulse engines in KM come to mind. They have a great looking grid. Something in that kind of design on these would be cool

The new pics look awesome. Good job so far.

They would look too big for a ship of this size, and I already have a grille design on them.

at least have some sort of border around that grid design... right now it looks to odd and doesn't conform around the edges.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Loving the design, Wiley. The ship looks like it's hitting a "ski jump" pose, giving it a forward lunging appearance. Is the paint just cosmetic or does it help with the quantum slipstream or something? Either way it looks great. I love the impulse engine design too.
