Bungie were undoubtedly involved, but it was directed by Neill Blomkamp. Peter Jackson has something to do with it, as did Weta Workshops and Weta Digital. Which reminds me, Weta made a fully functioning Warthog! Here you can see some people pissing around with it in a car park:



Apparently a film is being made, but I've heard several different stories about it, so whether it still is, I don't know!

Now that video, I've seen.  As for the movie, last I heard, it was scrapped.
