Ok well im not sure this is the best place for a review, but it is your thread hobbs so here goes. First off the handeling is excellent, just what i would expect from a Defiant sized escort. The power distribution is dead on, not underpowered, and not overpowered, quite managible. The Hardpoint was well done, although i admit I changed the HP in order to balence it out with my Fleet. No major changes i just dropped the Hull strength and increased the sheild strength slightly, and increased the sheilds a bit more on the retracted USS Griffin to reflect the smaller sheild area. I placed a Fed Armour script in the plugin so that your armour plates would work.  The energy Syphon sounds alot like Regenrative Sheilding, which does the same thing you described for the Egy Syphon, so i added the Regenrative Sheild tech as well to the ships plugin since thats what you kinda intended. I also increased the Burn value in order to make the model a lil tougher (Again just to fit in with my rehardpointed fleet). I must say that your Griffin is a swift lil scrapper, a worthy Federation Explorer/Escort.

she is meant to be slightly larger than the defiant, but not by much.

i love me ship... trouble is when i design new ships now they turn out just like the griffin lol. but i do have a different design i just added to the hobbs' ships thread.

i measured the griffin along side the defiant and the grif was slightly longer, you probaly know this but you can use Nifskope to rescale the griiffin and go a lil larger if u like!

thank you i have my moments lol but you should see some of the "ahem" I've done in the past lol

by the way worf359alpha i had imagined the energy syphon becoming a shield design that actually fed off phaser fire lol didn't realise that was what regenerative shielding was lol
i thought regenerative shields just recharged whilst still active.

i've research this a bit but apparently it changes from time to time.

apparently regenerative shields = shields that configure themselves to the incoming fire, as discussed on other sites this seems to be the wrong definition. shields that do that should be called "adaptive"

regenerative shields should be constantly recharging unlike standard shields that need "axillary power" transferred to them. this means if the damage is less then the rate of recharge the shields are pretty much solid.

I tested it and MVAM works fine, but you do have 2 bad Carrier plugins, they mode all my Mods disapear untill i deleted them! Is the ship intended to glow like that? Otherwize, its a nifty lil ship!! Nice job :lol:
Why is it that "carrier" scripts would conflict with mods? id thought they would be completly seperate scripts

They don't conflict. It's a well known fact that if they're written wrong they cause that problem.

Hey hobbs, i havent had the time to look into the Syphon tech you posted but heres the Uss Griffin and Griffin extended ships plugins that i use, both plugins are set up to use Regenerative Sheilds and Fed Ablative Armour so all your plates will work in the Hardpoint, i also included FTECH by MLEO so that the Fed Armour will work, just in case you didnt have it, just install FTECH and the plugins and the griffin will have Fed Ablative Armour and Regenerative Sheilding, if you have Kobyashi Maru already, just toss the ship plugins in and your all set!

well its been a while but finally i have an Ftech version of the Uss Griffin

thank you Tiqhud and Baz1701 i could not have got it sorted without conversing with you guys :)

but...

at present the ship seems to only see one Hardpoint file because when i change the files to suit the power out put of the shields nothing changes.

what i mean is

the retracted version of the ship is the "attack" hp and has lower power needed for the shields and the extended version has the power for sheilds higher.... but nothing changes untill i change all Hp's.
is this a bug that means that Ftech will not swap hp files so does this mean i will need to use MVAM instead of ftech (though i may do both versions as one release)

also i need to have the warp speeds different for the two versions (warp 1-5 in retracted mode and warp 7-9.5 in extended mode)

any help would be appreciated though i would sayi will try and use bcut to ad the speed change to the py files.
