It's been a little wile since i've continued my ships since i did the eva suits, so i thought i'd post something that's bite is defiantly worst then it's bark, lol. Introducing the advance tactical combat cruiser prototype (NEXUS or EXIA, vote now above please). This ship is based of the STO line of escorts but redesigned by me to fit more in line with Trek. Enjoy.

Personally I'd go with NEXUS, EXIA doesn't really mean anything, and the FLAG were far superior.  :D

I liked the Flag designs also, but when push cant to shove, EXIA screams heavy combat, and look out when she's in trans am, lol. But if you like NEXUS, Then vote at the top of the page please.

Bank~ i love this design  :yay:

few points i'd like to know:

1) why is it pink (lol joking  :P)
2) what is the split along the aft part of the pink section
3) i would have to say that the aft ends of the nacelles need something doing to them they look odd to me
4) what size will she be
5) where is the bridge... is it buried? that would be better for protection
6) love the front view... the way the nacelles and everything slopes the same way good job

and to finnish....

:dance :yay:  i want her NOW!  :D

That is just wicked scary.  This thing should fire toilet paper torpedoes so the enemy can wipe after they crap themselves.

Voting on the name is at neck and neck. I wounder who is going to win?

thanks for the comments so far guy, i'm looking forward to hearing more.

As for the questions:

the pink section was the color of the first cylinder i used to make the hull. This model is made of 4 of them, hull, secondary hull, saucer and necellas. Each of the four sections is made from one that i modeled to make my ship. Except for the weaponry pods on the sides of the saucer, that's Atolm and WZ's Tiburon.

THe split down the center of the pink area is where 2 halves meet. I only build half the ship and mirror it. During the end of the build i merge them together.

AS for the bridge, the build is only 50% right now, i do want to see the bridge from out side the ship, but jest have dot settled on where and of the design yet.

Size, still yet to be determined, but possible in the ball park of 2/3rds the size of the sovvy.

It also has been brought up that the necellas are too close to the saucer and that the section would not be habitable. TO that i say, Steemrunner, defiant, Saber, and the list goes on, lol. Take in to consideration that this is a tactical cruiser. THe necellas are hevely armed along with the rest of the ship, and are tucked close to the ship instead of sticking out into space like sour thumbs wating to get hit.

I hope i answered all of the questions and i look forward to hearing more feed back from you guy.

On the modeling note, i'm having trouble designing a shuttle bay that will be tucked behind the sucer. I really love the Saber class style but i want to do somethind new, diffrent, but i have no ideas on it. Any ideas out there?

if anybody had been near me when i read that, they woulda given me strange looks when i loled.  mabey I'll take that idea up.  I use "gag" torpedoes in my ships a lot.

hey bank~

all answered but...

the Steamrunner has the bussards built into the saucer the actual naccelle itself is situated so that there ar no abitable areas near them.

the Defiant as i stated has the nacelles at the minimum safe distance.

the Saber or is it Sabre has the same system as the Steamrunner, the actual nacelles themselves are away from the habitable area of the ship.

As to your answers... thank you :)

you say you do half the ship then copy and mirror... when i tried that and combined the two i found that the center line still showed when i smoothed and textured. how do you do it? i use Gmax.

whats that? "unwealded"  :idk:?

in regardss to the names EXIA or NEXUS

EX-1-A

advanced tactical combat cruiser prototype

This ship is an new addition to the star-fleet, built as part of the RRTF this ship is built for combat... early in the design phase this vessel was named EX1A (EX-perimental ship 1 A-lpha) at some point an engineer presented the proposal to Starfleet: R&D and was over heard calling it EXIA simply due as a way to quickly indicate which vessel was being discussed and since that moment many involved continued to call it the EXIA.

Its good. Although, it is a tad lacking in grammar and punctuation. :P

Hi ares93, not to worry, i actually like it when people ask about my projects. Have a cookie for thinking about the Vesta, lol. JB06 it texturing her as we speek. I'm not sure of the progress as of now, he's a great texturer so i don't bother him. As soon as there is more progress he or i will post some. After that things will move fast for the standered mod, and a fleet ST:R&D pack with coustoms weponds and sounds will be later.

just as a sidenote i'm writing this post ST:Destiny fanfic series with the aventine. your pics, even untextured, have been a great inspiration. what program are you using to make the models if i might ask? maya?

A little progress. I'v been stuck on her for a bit, but thanks for some input from Baz, i think she starting to shape up. Hope you like it. Enjoy and leave feed back.

As for the pole, i'll leave it open till the ships done, so far, i'm happy you all are voting.

Ares 93: I like what i seen so far, looking forward to more. And once the Vesta is finshed, i'll put you down as a tester if you wish.
