nice job JB but something just feels off on those textures.... and I'm not talking about the missing specs xD

but I'm known to be a bit nit-picky.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

The Aventine looks great! Looks really detailed and I can't wait to fly it along side of my NX-Proteus.

So you're saying that this is where the main impulse is located?

Yep, you got it  I sent you all the info i had, and it was one of the places that i could not see, i did run it by mark, and he liked it, but did not say what it actually way. But if you look at the top of the ship, there are the main impulse  exhaust there so i would assume that is where the main one was.

its probably going to be a ship that is set in the same era/ a sister class of ship, to wileys proteus class...

Ok, i'll see what it looks like. Might use Wiley's impulse texture if he doesnt mind.

If you read Wiley's post at the start of the Proteus.... he based the colour scheme off the Vesta Class ;)

Wily's is an original ship, but based the textures of the Vesta. The Vesta was developed along side the Sovie, so his ship, unless he says otherwise, was developed after the Vesta.

Taking a break from Exia/Nexus (see poll above), I've started working on Galen's Legacy Class. Its a good start so far, defiantly more of a challenge using the new tools i have recently discovered. Enjoy

The Vesta looks awesome, I want it!

Okay, questions about the Legacy.  First off, which version of the Legacy class is it?  Secondly, did you make sure to get permissions to make it from the original designer?

Someone already made Galen's ship. It's on deviantart. I don't know how the poly count on it is though, so I guess you making it would be okay, if you got permission of course.

Here it is:

Galen has a Wanderer-class he's working on. You should ask him if you can build that one.

The texture for the Proteus impulse engines are a normal layer pattern in Photoshop CS2.

My ship (Proteus) is definitely built after the Vesta.

Yes, thats the Legacy Class ship i'm building. I forgot who, but some one over at Scifi Meshes did built it, but thats well over 300k polys and i love the design and i'm building it for the game. My target as always is 15000 polys or less.

And yes The Wanderer Class is next on the table, and so is the StarHowler.

SK: Yes, i already have permission from him. He has made some great designs. Comming October if time allows, he may even be doing some textures for the team. Galen is a cool designer and great at textures.

It looks like we are officially now the "next generation" of BC modders. Since bankruptstudios is building the Legacy Class, it looks like I'll have to scratch that one off of my list. :)

I have to say that I'm real pleased that so many of the side ships of Starfleet post-DS9/VOY are getting such great treatment from this generation of modders.  It's stuff like this that keeps BC going.
