Warp core breach ?
« on: September 10, 2010, 09:37:12 AM »
I just thought of this but how come no one has thought of creating a script that tied In to the warp core that could cause a warp core breach? Depending on the health of the core, the temperature of the core would rise to the point of where containment would fail and It would need to be ejected. It could also be tied In to the plasma vents, once the nacelles were hit core temperature would increase as well and once the plasma was vented the temperature would return to normal. Or you could have the option to shut off plasma flow to that nacelle which In turn would decrease temperature and pressure but you would also loose the ability of going to warp. I've always thought that was missing from BC the added suspense of knowing your flying around a ticking time bomb when you loose containment.

Opinions?

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

sneaker's core ejection is the closest thing there is to that, that ejects the core...
however, there is nothing done where you get a prompt warning you to eject something before it explode; that would involve quite a bit of scripting, actually...  also, i dont think BC sees things like "pressure" or "temperature" per se, moreso how much "damage" it has taken as far as hit points and such...

uh yeah there was... I remember a script where the core gets damaged to a particular level or you use the engines to much and it over heats and you have to use the plasma release or eject the core.

either defiant, Mleo or sneaker released it after the core ejection mod was released.

Such a script was never made to my knowledge, similar scripts were done but not like this.

Actually I remember something like this. There was a soundclip along the lines of "Something fused" and you'd have to bail from the ship? I think it was an option in engineering though, to give you that extra edge in a losing battle.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Just wondering have you seen that Core breach video on YouTube ??? as that did seem a lot more intuitive with other functions to it.

Holy thread resurrection. The video demonstrates several other mods, and one of mine which I thought people didn't use (the power down).
