Sovereign Class Enterprise E Now Available at BCFiles

I know I've got a few other things on the go right now, but I got hit by the modeling bug.  I'm going to try and build Eleanor.

Okay.  Gotta go to bed, but for now, here's where I'm at.  I definitely need to refine things around the deflector, I know.  however, I've got a pretty good start in that area.  I've spline caged everything so far except for the dish itself.  I'm going to flesh out the piece at the bottom more accurately, and increase the rim size around the bottom of the deflector housing.  Next stop will be the torpedo launcher.  The rest of the engineering section (sans pylons) should be pretty straightforward.

As for Eleanor... :funny

In the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, Nick Cage refers to the Mustang Shelby GT500 as "Eleanor".  It's the one car he could never seem to get/keep.  I've made several incomplete, and bad, versions of this ship in the past.  hopefully this time will be the charm.  That's why I'm "code-naming" it, Eleanor.

My early thoughts on the ship are sort of hybridized like my Galaxy.  I'm going with the Nemesis armaments and body design, generally speaking, with the First Contact paint scheme.  I always like the bright white of the ship in that movie, so I think when I get to textures I'll go that route.

First thing I thought of, when I read the title "Eleanor" was in regards to that movie. Was a pretty neat flick (and damn nice cars). Hope you succeed in capturing your "unicorn" :)

Have you seen John Eave's "Post Nemesis" Sovereign Class?  At the end of Nemesis, she was supposed to have been refit but it never happened so the movie ends with her still in Drydock.  Not a request by any means but I thought I would share it anyways in case you haven't seen it.

Damn, you beat me to the Sovereign Class, and it would look perfect too.  :banghead: Since you are doing a hybrid, I would like to see what you come up with.

WWwAAAAAHHHHOOOOO!!!! DJ-E!!

I've been hoping you would make this some day. :)
I'm with you on the paint scheme, it looked amazing in FC, I think a lot of that is also down to the use of a physical model.

There are four main differences.

http://johneaves.wordpress.com/2010/12/10/the-evolutions-of-the-uss-midway-cv-41-and-the-uss-enterprise-ncc-1701-e/

D'oh, now I see...odd that this is supposed to be a post-Nemesis refit, yet most of the changes are to the secondary hull while most of the damage incurred during the battle against the Scimitar was to the primary hull. :lostit:
