*thread cleared*

there will be no further discussion of this ship and MVAM in this thread please, or if DJ should/would have it for his model...

The saucer of the Sov is designed to separate, as John Eaves has indicated.  Though to be frank, the parts when separated don't look very good and I don't plan to implement it.
thats the end of that discussion...
DJ has made himself very clear...

moving on...

Update time.  I've spent a few hours on the underside of the saucer and the impulse engines.  Man is there ever a lot more work that it first seems.  There are actually some deceptive angles on the underside of the saucer that took forever to figure out.  After careful study of schematics and reference pics, parts of the lower saucer are actually angled up ever so slightly.  Hard to see though, otherwise.

So far it is very close to spec.  I think that once I get the drive section/saucer connection area figured out around the impulse engines it should be pretty smooth sailing until I get to the nacelles.

Enjoy the pics. :D

I sure wish I had some barbeque sauce for all these ribs.  What a pain.  I had to redo basically all the smoothing on the saucer so far.  However, it's worth it because every single rib is fully unified and welded to the rest of the mesh.

I'd recommend Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce for those ribs

That is a good BBQ sauce-- awesome sauce with a side of cool beans!  :funny The Enterprise-E is a very difficult ship to build. Good work so far.

I believe awesome sauce actually powers the warp core.

Here's the latest.  I've been working on the shuttle bay and the connecting area along the top between the saucer and engineering hull.  It's quite an interesting area, though I think I've got it pretty close to how it looks.  I've had to use screencaps a lot to get it right.  The way the area in behind the bay doors dips down at the edges is kinda nifty.

Don't mind the non-existent dorsal saucer.

Those arches on the back of the ship are what makes the Nemesis Sovereign my favorite, versus the ones from First Contact and Insurrection.  I also liked the darker paint as well, since it made her look more like the Warship she really is, as apposed to the bright white color of a cruise ship.  But I do look forward to seeing what the final product looks like.  So far you're doing an astounding job as usual

Agreed :).  This is shaping up very well!  But I bet this beast will be an eyesore for low-end computers!

Update to the engineering hull and pylons.  Still a bunch of detailing work to do, but it's well on the way.

I made a couple of wireframes too, just for fun.  :D  You might notice that the mesh lines follow the actual hull lines.  I did this to make sure that when mapped out, the textures rest nicely where they should.  Really coming to appreciate the beauty of this ship much more than I used to.  It's got so much going on and yet it works.

Time for sleep.
