It is the same color in FC and INS, but a slightly different pattern overall.  The NEM version is a lot lighter on the bottom.  The values are:

Top:

R:14
G:14
B:14

Bottom
R:42
G:42
B:42

So there's a pretty noticeable difference there.  I have however, darkened those panels down.

I was about to say "Looking at the renders you're right they are lighter, but still should be slightly darker than the hull panels beside them" But since you darkened them COOKIE :D.

Still looking great! :)

Some work going on the sides of the engineering hull.  I know that on the Nemesis version, the engineering hull seems to have a base hull color that is somewhat darker than the saucer.  However after experimenting with it, I'm going to take a slight creative license and make them the same color.  The ship's hull paneling and styles all over are very schizophrenic, and I prefer the way that keeping the two sections the same color improves the overall look... at least to me.

Cant imagine it right now, so I guess we will have to sit and wait until you have finished texturing. which btw is progressing very rapidly!

btw are you going to texture the windows with that dark blue color from FC/INS or white from NEM?

Thanks Flarespire.  JTK I think I like the blue from FC.  But something in between perhaps.  What do you guys think?

I'm with eclipse here. Something in between the blue and the white (i.e light blue). Textures are looking great so far, and I agree with your decision to keep both sections of the ship the same hull color. Most likely, the difference in coloring in INS/NEM is due to visual effects error, much like the infamous "dark grey neck Galaxy" during the Dominion War, and numerous other Visual FX goofs over the years.

I'm glad you're sticking with one color.  In all honesty I'm not a fan of the way the Nemesis version was colored, I much prefer the FC colors.  Oh and I'll cast my vote for a light blue window scheme as well.

Very good work so far DJ keep it up.  :yay:

Opinions on the windows noted.  Thanks.

This part of the ship has been a jerk to texture and line up everything. :banghead:  But it's pretty well there.
I decided to go with a decidedly FC color arrangement down here.  The half ovals on the sides of the panel that runs up the middle are lighter in FC than the middle itself.  Note that I also changed the dark paneling on the bottom of the saucer to the same as the top.  Looks okay, no?

Just noticed I've got to add the decals at the ends of the phasers.

This looks spectacular! After you have finished, you should forward your model to the St Excalibur team so that they can optimize it and release it for their NanoFX GE model viewer.

I would also like to see a Intrepid class from you DJ or a Defiant. I've always loved your concept ships and your galaxy class above everything else on BC files. Keep up the great work!

The darker color definitely looks cool except it makes the Phaser strips blend in too much.  If it wasn't for the red on their ends you wouldn't know they were there.  Perhaps tone back ever so slightly?  Or change the phasers?  What ever works.

The phasers actually have the exact same color applied to them at the moment.  I haven't given them their texture yet.  I just wanted them to not be light gray for the time being.
