I'm a question : why waste space with the living impulse engines in the saucer ?
You can not place it between the two warp nacelles ?

Like in my joined example, you can even enlarge them for more power !

What do you think about this ?

I dunno i like it as it is man. I mean wat happens if one fails lol. I mean loads actually have two. u can see the main impulse in other pics. No deff leave as is nix. Its awesome

sorry Bdfd, actually there is Impulse under where you put them, and the ones on the saucer are in case of Saucer seperation, you know if needs must, also they are there as with man that have 2 or more impulse i mean akira has 4 galaxy has 3 sov has 2 etc heres the main one, its just under the hull that im texturing now, where you've put the impulse your covering the rear torpedo launchers

Why not for saucer ;)
but Oberth class is a very small vessel, and a separate saucer is not welcome !
The saucer contains two or three shuttlebay doors, if you put the impulse engines,
where is the space for the crew ?

Ok for rear torpdeos but you can put it on each side.

Remember that it's a science class starship.
You can engage a rate among us ?

Well i dont know what u mean by can engage a rate among us, but you are the only one with a prob with the saucer issue, others have liked it, so repectfully i would like to keep my current design, how u had it makes No use for the underslung impulse and gives less room in the main section, this is Bigger than an oberth remember that

it's not a prob but just an inconsistency...

Of course you can keep your current design, you are the modeller

It was just a reminder of principle ;)

lol Princible...U could say the First ENTERPRISE *not nx-01* had one impulse area, And the D has 3 - so....Keeping in mind this is not the original deisgn and is just BASED off of it, BUT I could VERY easily change it later if im not happy

The Ambassador Class also had 1 Impulse Port, on the neck. The number of impulse ports on a ship, apparently, is not conducive to the ship's size. The Sovereign Class, for example, is longer than the Galaxy Class, and roughly the same mass. But has half as many decks. And yet, it only has two impulse engines on the saucer. The Galaxy Class had three, but only 1 was active at all times. The two on the saucer were not in operation unless the saucer was separated from the rest of the ship.

However, the SIZE of the Impulse Ports could be important, as the Impulse Engines do provide the sublight thrust of the vessel. The smaller the port/the bigger the ship, the more sluggish the vessel would be at impulse speed.

Not all impulse engines have visible exhaust ports. Notable examples are the saucer engines on the nebula ( so says Rick Sternbach), and the Steamrunner (FC model has no visible exhaust ports)

Does it really matter? its a nice ship and i really like it, i think the impulse on the MAIN hull looks wrong, Under one at the bottom looks awesome and i personally feel the impulse on the saucer gives it a nice look, honesty

thought it was a torpedo launcher but then i saw that in the main hull. i must admit i think this is going to look nice when finished and is one ship i hated, but this new upgrade if you will, looks damn cool

thanks darkthunder he was being a bit of a dick! i was actually on holiday visiting my dad so this is only pointed at the troll, but dude, i do this for fun nothing else, and as brex has said i have been trying to sort my fleet out on sto, so i will finish it in my own time - Which is going to be longer than hoped as its making me wonder on colours
