Somewhere around the year 2000, Star Trek Klingon Academy was released by Interplay for the P.C, Well this game got me hooked and i started to learn a program called Lightwave *Which i have no clue at now :D* and i wanted to break the competition by bringing in a model that would be better than anyone had hoped or wanted, issue is i didnt have a clue what i was doing and was learning how to model on the fly, Well unfortunately, my master plan never saw fruition she was never finished. *go on say it, like most of my work!! lol* Well here she is, my Big project back just shortly after the year 2000, trying to get my name out there - it worked, i was noticed, but didn't finish my baby :(

Now to cut a long story short, I have a MASSIVE issue with my self, Hate most things about me *except my eyes* and really don't have much faith in much of my work, BUT I try, and i enjoy doing it *when my brain wants to work and let me do what i want it too*

While i was in bed watching Deep Space Nine a few days ago with my Fiancee, i said to her,

"You know what, I'd love to build that!"

To which she replied

"Well do it then!"

we had a small debate about the fact I'm not good enough and would be no way able to pull that off, think my exact words were "Not in a month of Sundays. lol!"
she copped the hump with me for doing my normal self loathing thing and went to sleep, I got up and decided i was going to get back to work on my Armada 3 Project and i got thinking

"You know what Nix, I'm getting sick of all the I don't know, I can't do it, it will be crap, no one will like it attitude!"
"What is the one thing you've always wanted to build and or finish? Well get your Fat ass in gear and damn well do it, no matter what, don't give in and don't moan, Just try until u can't try no more!!"

So I did, and well keeping in mind things have changed and you can use much more detail in your work, this is my current build as of 3:49am this morning - This will take me a while to do but i will do it, i have mentioned that i want to build this to baz, as to not step on a friends toes, and he has given me his blessing, I really hope you lot like her

I agree with your gf. Shut the hell up about the part "i can't " or "i'm not good blabla". Dude, you created some damn HD material that even could be used in the TNG bluray season packs.

Phoenix make sure the habitat ring and docking ring are at the correct heights, many forget the docking ring is lower and pylons rise up to the central structure.

Looks damn fine Phoenix and as you heard from me many times you are ridiculously good at modeling and along with baz and wc and DJ and all the rest of you other guys that model, you have inspired me to try harder on my ships.

As I always say--- practice, practice, practice. TNG ships are the most difficult, TOS is easy. Just keep building. I have maybe 100+ meshes built in various stages of construction.

Hobbs, you have a ship for BC, though it may not be your best, YOU HAVE BUILT A 3D SHIP FROM SCRATCH AND PUT IT INTO A GAME. That is a feat that not many people are able to achieve.

Just keep at it!

Phoenix, I love the DS9 station.

Oooh that would be lovely. With everything nice and neatly scaled. I can see some pretty fantastic wallpapers being made within the next year :)

If you finish those I'll love you forever   :D

There is one problem with scale in DS9. The station, bug and Defiant varied from episode to episode. Only thing to have a size set in stone was the runabout I believe

While the scaling of the station and Defiant were somewhat "in flux" depending on the episode, what matters most is getting a scale that Phoenix is most comfortable with between the station, starships and shuttlecraft. I'm sure Phoenix will do fine :)

First thing that sprung to mind was Father Ted. Our American friends won't get it but the scene where Ted is explaining to Dougal about the cows close and far away springs to mind.
