Helm AI activates on camera change
« on: February 21, 2011, 02:19:53 PM »
 :banghead:

I don't even know where to start with this one and I'm hoping some of you who take videos in BC have seen this and resolved it. When setting up a shot, I switch back and forth between the normal game mode and a cinematic camera. The really aggravating part is that most of the time when I get the ship positioned just the way I want to begin the shot in the cinematic mode, the switch back to game mode to transport to the next ship, the freakin' AI kicks in and starts making manuevers in the ship I currently control...completely screwing up the careful positioning I've done to get the ship where I want it.

I have to be ready on the "All Stop" command every time I turn back to the game mode. Any clues?

It's not like I've got the camera button mapped to anything besides camera! The manuevers don't even make sense...it's not like the helm is trying to get me in a targeting position...it just goes off for a joy ride.  :bitch:

Before switching back into bridge view, go to Brex's menu and kill the engines.

I've had issues like this previously... even turning the engines off didn't help... XD
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

GC V2.0 is already in KM 2009.12 and the update 2010.02

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

[offtopic]That's because you always break things Neb jeez c'mon even Dante figured that out a few years ago :P[/offtopic] (Sorry I had to!)

Seriously though dude, I wish I could tell ya, other than it could be a script overwiting another.  That's surely a weird bug.  Have you gotten a console report to see if you could figure it out from there?

In that case I'd really love to see a console report dude when the AI problem occurs.

What I've noticed is that it always happens when another ship is in proximity to me. Doesn't matter if either ship is in motion or stationary, as soon as I switch out of cinematic view, it happens again. So I figure it is the same script that causes friendly AI ships to avoid a collision (even though I have them turned off). So perhaps isolating and removing the script involved with making the ships move out of the way on their own is what I need to do.

What do you think? Know where I might find that script?

wow an error I havn't seen before. What ship is SFRD_ConnieRefit512? Where can I get it?

Also, what ever the ship Sobieski is, its carrier is broken. Best to remove Scripts\Custom\Carriers\Sobieski.py(c) and tell the author of this ship about it.

you've been that out of circulation, defiant?  the ONLY new downloads for a month have been SFRD with a couple from JB to break the monotony.  btw, don't just pick up the ship, pick up the projectile pack to go with it, or stuff won't work right.

bones has allready issued a  patch for the Sobieski's carrier goof.  deadthunder musta not slipped the repaired carrier script in.
