Duke Nukem: Forever?
« on: June 05, 2011, 03:46:18 PM »
So I placed my pre-order for Duke Nukem Forever and got a chance to play the demo this weekend and I'm pretty stoked to get the game when it comes out. I won't spoil the demo for anyone in case you want to play it yourself but it is only two levels long. Anybody else plan on picking this up?

i would have literally lived off ramen cups for 3 weeks straight just to get the 60 bucks up for it... i friggin love the duke.

but that idea sadly died when i had to take my Ps3 back to rent a center.... but rest assured, WHEN i get another Ps3, i WILL get this, no matter how crappy/awesome it may turn to be....

if your desperate for a dose of the Duke, see if you can find "time to Kill" or  "total meltdown" a plutonium pack PSX port.  I have em both.

ugh... no offence but time to kill was just god awful... sad to say the only duke game i hate.

i do have my old D3D disc here.. i just gotta make an ISO image to use the bloody thing, now if i could only remember the name of the expansion for that that had the "dukeburger" level.... dammit im getting old. :banghead:

didn't "get" time to kill, did ya.  they call it Duke Raider for a reason.

my issue was the damn controls, other than that it wasnt a bad game, but if i cant work the friggin controls, (or if the character jumps 30 feet more than i wanted *cough*) it just kills it for me  :dontcare: .... your right though, they did call it "duke raider" for a reason...

i seriously want an MP3 of the new "metal" duketheme for my MP3 player though... that song sounds DOPE

I never had problems with the controlls (as I was allready used to the TR layout).  I had trouble with total meltdown's controlls.  it didn't convert to console too well. and, of course, both games were "disk only" turn-ins I bought pre Game Stop name change.

On a side note you might want to check out Powerglove if you haven't heard them. They do an epic version of the old X-men cartoon theme along with a bunch of other stuff.

Well after the past two days I've got to say I'm very satisfied with this game. If you're a Duke fan I'm pretty sure you'll like it. The multiplayer is a blast and makes me think of the old days of me playing Unreal Tournament at LAN parties with my buds. The only thing that annoys me is the loading times which seem to be a bit slow compared to other games but still it's great.

knowing that i would assume this would be better on a console or a WELL oiled machine.

Well I'm playing it on my 360 since my PC is a circa 2004 POS.  PC version might have better loading times but idk.  :idk:

i was thinking the same, i might just say the hell with a new Ps3 for now, get the cash and build a decent rig... plus on that aspect i could totally get into modding that sucker for PC.

After all these years of  wait we get THIS ? WTF !!! I'm already selling this piece of garbage ... there's no depth to anything, sounds are plain, shooting is plain, graphics are lame ... seriously, I have Quake 4 installed and wnted to make sure I'm right... unfortunately... Quake 4 has better graphics than this piece  of Schlock... guns are cheap, GFX are cheap, sounds are cheap ... even aiming is ruined completely ... now I know how Duke felt when he grabbed that turd from the toilet ... just like me, grabbing this game from store ... wasted time :(
