« on: June 26, 2011, 11:34:51 PM »
well, posted about this in the KM forums, no one could help there, but for some reason my game has been crashing at game start, I cannot get a console dump due to when it crashes, and yes I have tried, I have tested this with KM instaled, without KM instaled, and with a completly fresh and unpatched game with the same results each time, it BSODS and gives a windows error report, with a reinstal between each test

Windows 7 x64 Pro (UAC disabled)
nVidia GeForce 580GTX

CPU: Intel i7-2600K

ive had this error, its where the STBC.exe file has broken, all you need to do is get a new copy of the exe and then update your version of directx throigh windows update and it should work, this is what ive been forced to do and it worked for me.

didn't fix it, didn't think it would but hey, worth a try

also forgot to mention what the error message said, I was wrong about the microsoft error message, its a C++ error, abnormal program termination

hmmm

I'd have your gfx options set at application controlled and get rid of your options.cfg file.
you did install this in a new directory like c:\Games right?

tried that before, didn't work, the game crashes before it can even generate the options.cfg, I've also tried using someone elses options.cfg, didn't work

I am again telling you to try the same thing I recommended over at KM forums. Uninstall redistributables, uninstall the game and then reinstall everything.

When doing as USS Soverign suggested, make sure EVERy folder or remenants of BC are gone, before you do a reinstall.
