The underside of the saucer is nearly done. I never liked the stretched windows on the engineering hull, so I fixed that problem. I also changed the size of the windows on the upper saucer.

I really like the hull textures but the deflector is not working for me.

Looking excellent Wiley.

There is something about the deflector though that looks a bit cartoonish. It needs more, I don't know, maybe more facets and even a bit of specularity (maybe not - I'm just aiming for a feel here) to give it more of a "3d" look.

Obviously stick with what the deflector is supposed to look like according to canon but... well, what I suggested above.

I don't have a problem with the deflector.  I expect it'll look better with the alpha glow and speculars in the engine.

I don't have a "problem" with it either per say, just feel that it appears a bit "flat".

It needs more cowbell.  :D

I'll try some more attempts with the deflector, but the coloring is really close.

Sorry but... I don't get it?

What's meant when you say "cowbell".

I'm pretty sure it's a joke or something but hey, fill me in  :D

I guess I interpreted his message on Sov's thread incorrectly
 :cancelled:
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

So I mentioned a while back a sketch coming on the Med Freighter.  It's not finished, haven't touched it for a couple days.  I have good references, but I made this anyway to sort of conceptualize the geometry better.  Some items in the ST:I textures aren't reflected in the model because of its low poly count.  This sketch allowed me to refine the design more before modelling begins, which will be soon.

Anyways, here it is:

Textures are done- that's 2 total textures (3 regular, and 3 specular maps, all at 2048px resolution), and it is ID mapped for multiple registries. Enjoy!
