Mouse / keyboard input unrecognised on launch.
« on: June 23, 2012, 07:30:08 PM »
Hello - just bought this game and was looking forward to trying it out. :)

But... After installing from the disc and loading up, my mouse and keyboard get completely ignored. I can't skip any of the intro movies or the initial cut scene, and I can't interact with the main menu when it (finally) arrives. No key presses, no mouse cursor, nothing. So I have to alt-tab out to windows, where everything still works, and close the program.

I'm running on a Windows 7 x64 laptop with dedicated graphics card, tons of memory, quad core processor - it's a gaming laptop, essentially. I've tried running STBC in compatibility mode, turned off visual themes, used the laptop touch pad, plug in USB mouse, reinstalling, rebooting... But nope, can't interact with the game at all when it loads.

Any ideas?

there's your issue

run on admin mode for starters, im on the same.

if that fails, run admin with xp compatibility applied.

theres instances where the install has to be made in a separate folder on some win7 systems, like on the desktop, for it to work
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.
Later gents, i have Youtube to take over.

Thanks - fixed the problem. I had to install to a folder on the desktop and run as administrator. All working now, enjoy it so far! :)
