Evenstar Class - Blender
« on: February 26, 2014, 11:42:49 AM »
Anyone who follows my WIP thread in the modding section may have noticed that it's been a little quiet. (Uhm, again.) Well, you can all blame Killa. :p

His Tyson model inspired me to make a ship that was a sort of stepping stone between then Galaxy and the Sovereign, possibly a test-bed for the Sovereign class tech. I started a couple of weeks ago and it developed into it's own thing, which I'm rather liking a lot at the minute. I'm thinking of pushing this further along in the timeline to be a mid 25th Century vessel.

This isn't a BC project, it's a high poly ship.

The build thread is here, for any who want to follow: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?80878-Evenstar-Class-Blender&p=584847#post584847

I'll be updating this thread here every now and then as well.

And with that, here's what she looks like so far:

Nice design, If its supposed to be a sovereign class tech testbed, then you may want to have the Nacelle grilles more like the sovereigns than the galaxy's.

I really like this and I want to see where you go with this. :D

Thanks guys. :D

Flare, I'm thinking of trying to combine the two. It's a little difficult to figure out a look that hasn't become a little bit cliche. :p I've decided now that the commission date for this class will be somewhere around the 2450/60's.

Some technical specs: She's 750 meters long and 26 decks tall.

Uh oh, busted! :p

No, I'm not, but thankyou. :)

I gave myself yesterday off as I was pretty shattered. Missed the Northern Light display that I didn't know was happening. Really annoying as I almost went out with my camera to shoot some stars yesterday. If only I'd have known. xD

I decided that the underside needed a little bit of attention, so I've moved to the bottom of the saucer and started to figure out the deflector. Not sure whether I want to go Galaxy-esque with it or TMP/Grandeur.

Here's what I have so far:

Looking real nice I like the defelector as is, in the shap it has now ,but with a galaxy/voyager style Imo  ;). the bussards gotto go there to pointy they need a late tng feel to them maybe a Akira bussard style as that ship was late tng. Keep up the good work though

Nah, he cant be DJ, this ship doesn't have a double deflector!!!

Thanks for the comments.  :D

The bussards are place holders. The reason that they're so pointy is that they come down to a single vertex at the front.

Maverick, I'd forgotten all about that ship in the second picture.

Deadthunder, I meant 2450's, maybe a little earlier. That region of Trek is still pretty much unexplored.

this little sister "ranger" class I've taken a liking to.  the nacelles look like they'd work on an Oberth class replacement.

thing is, car puns immediatly popped into my head because of the name.  USS Courier, USS Mazda B, USS Sierra, USS Bronco, USS Blazer, USS Explorer, USS Tiguan...the puns are just FLYING in my head.

for some reason, what also pops up is names of the class also coming from Native American Nations.

The names come from Lord of the Rings. ;)

The Ranger is roughly the size of the Nova. It's a fairly small ship.

oy...the USS Bilbo!  or should that be the baggins...I could see the USS Gamgee...I bet the Tolkein estate would raise all holy hell, though.

the nacelles look like they were built by ford.  knowing the STU, some people would consider that legit...after all Chrysler was a contractor for Starfleet, according to some people

I agree. The Ranger little sister ship is really nice. Love the nacelles. The shape reminds me of the Legacy ship. What's her name, I forgot.

USS Gamgee sounds good, however, I'm aware of how anal the estate can be, so I'll keep clear of using character names.

Where the hell do they get Chrysler from?

Adam, are you thinking of the Strider?

the ship looks sexy, tho the bridge dome looks slightly out of place, the shape does not match the rest of the ship, it's too flat on the top, looks like there is not much room for turbolifts or ready room etc.
