Hi all,
I'm working in 3D max to create an interior (Bridge included) for the TMP re-fit Enterprise for another project. Only have corridors and Engine room done so far. But was wondering if it would be any use to BC. And if it is, does anybody want the MAX files to do the converstion?
I'm using the actual Studio layout to model the sets
-
Perhaps such a mod would have the best use in Excalibur, there are going to be some ships interiors ;) also TMP Enterprise bridge is in development already.
Could you show us some pics ?
-
Here are some preview pics of the models so for
-
thats certainly looking top-notch :P nice work dude :)
-
Cool. I aggree with the Doc. I don't think it would be quite useful in BC but I can see it being of use for Excalibur. Try posting it in this section. These guys may be able to use it http://bc-central.net/forums/index.php?board=28.0 (http://bc-central.net/forums/index.php?board=28.0)
-
Yup, great work especially on engineering room :) It would look cool in Excalibur ;)
-
Hi I've moved this threat over to Excalibur Forum
-
I've moved your thread to graphics art as Excalibur is set post-nemesis.
I'll lock that one down and you can carry on using this thread.
Cheers.
El
-
Well it appears no body wants it so I'll let everyone be.
Just a side note it could have been used in Excalibur as one of the following: -
A, an old starfleet vessel (Such as the Hathaway was)
B, the TNG sets were the TMP sets redressed (only bridge and Engine Room built from scratch) would not take a lot convert to that era.
Just food for thought.
-
If I were you I wouldn't abandon this project as it looks very promising, after Excalibur is done this one could be used as a mod cuz one of the main goal of Excalibur is to make even more moddable game to us, so this will be most wanted in excalibut as an additional mod set ;)
-
its not that nobody wants it!
it looks great, but we cant use it in BC.
In which way you can use it excalibur, I dont know, maybe they dont plan making a starfleet museum or sth similar ;)
-
It can very much still be used in BC, but you would only be able to walk around it. No interactions.
-
Don't give up by all means. It's very promising. Why not build the Hathway interior and add more rooms and decks to it (or even make it a Galaxy interior). Then when Excal is released you can be one of the first to release a mod (and a very good one if you do it) for it.
-

hmm
what if brex would sit in machine room?
the camera would look against a wall. right?
so all the crew has to be on the bridge when you want to see them when you interact with them.
so, empty rooms dont make mcuh sense for me...
other question:
is it possible to add more than 1 viewscreen to a bridge???
-
is it possible to add more than 1 viewscreen to a bridge???
Nope, BC only supports one viewscreen.
-
whos to say that this project couldnt be steered into a different direction. it could be used in excalibur as a spare set for some non-seen class of ship. a quality piece of work (and the time that went into it) like this shouldnt be put to waste just because of a pre-conception
-
Rest assured this project will be finished as I'm using for fan film work.
Here is one of my earlier attempts
www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3TkU0gC_7M
As for switching the project to the Enterprise-D or TNG era I may do that after or anyone who wants the mesh is welcome to do with as they will.
The current status is:
Corridors - done
Engine room - main room and warp core done, with basic textures.
Transporter room - main room modeled
-
Here is an update.
Doors added to corridors
Transporter room main structure and pad modelled
Sick bay and bio beds modelled
Captains room modelled
-
Lookin Good
-
IMpressive work. Keep going.
-
Started to work on the bridge now. Decided to make it in TWOK config as this it's most used shape
-
Here is the almost finished bridge
-
That is looking very nice. Can't wait to try it out if it did end up in Excalibur.
-
Here is another update. Thanks to Dr McCoy who sent me his TWOK textures that look better than my screen cap ones.
-
Cool stuff. Here's food for thought. I don't know what kind of stuff the Elite Force/EF2 community does, but maybe... just maybe... this could be of use there, too? I'd like to see this bridge make it into BC or Excalibur. And even if it doesn't, just hold onto it. Back it up when it's all done and save it for later. You never know, you might find a use for it elsewhere.
-
Rest assured I'll be keeping hold of the model. I'm planning to use is it in a CGI Star Trek Movie.
I'm also planning to expand the set to include: -
Photon Torpedo bay
Rec-Deck
Officers Lounge
Air Lock (Spocks Walk TMP)
And any unseen sets they think would make a good addition.
Side note the Torpedo Bay from TWOK and TSFS was the Klingon Bridge from TMP so that could be redressed to create a new Klingon movie D7 bridge.
-
I would love to see the cargo bay from TMP, it would be huge but boy it would be worth it. Also dont know about any of you guys but id love to see this in BC, it could be a kind of ship museum mod, i would quite happily spend hours wondering around the TMP enterprise going to the rec deck and seeing the aft part of the ship from the windows or going to the VIP lounge and seeing what it should of looked like.
Anyone with me?

That cargobay was amazing. Perhaps you could stick a worker bee in it so you can fly about it :D hehe
-
Started to model Photon Launch bay
No textures as yet
-
This is looking really great, i cant wait to see what u do with it. Have a cookie
-
Started working on the Rec Deck tonight again no textures yet just the basic structure
-
Man you work fast. Looking good. Cookie for you.
-
Looking amazing, i always loved the rec deck it was huge, will you add a model of the ship behind it like we saw in the tmp. Also are you planning to do the botanical gardens, cus that is a huge part of the secondary hull that we never got to see
-
Aye thats some mighty good work here ! again I'm tempted to provide you with some displays for torpedo bay and rec-room :D
uh I almost forgot about cookie :D
-
First yes to the botanical Garden, But next will be the hanger deck.
I will see if I can show the aft section of the ship in the Rec deck windows.
As for the pictures of the Enterprises of the past i was thinking of taking out the ringed spaceship and replaceing it with the NX-01? I know it non-canon but it would make it more authentic?
Well I enjoy reading comments so what do you guys think?
-
As for the pictures of the Enterprises of the past i was thinking of taking out the ringed spaceship and replaceing it with the NX-01? I know it non-canon but it would make it more authentic?
Well it could very well be a different connie or the connie at a later date.
I'm curious, are you planning on doing the whole ship? and how many polygons is this at?
-
not sure how many polys it at as I'm modelling each room seperatly at the mo, but generally thay are simple shapes so no one piece with high poly count
-
Cant wait to see all this together, i look forward to seeing the hanger deck and cargo bay. Gorgeous work mate. I have noticed on the sovvie bridge that you can see the aft of the ship, does anyone know how this is acumplished?
If you do have this as a museum ship will you have it sat in drydock?
-
Sorry for all the questions baz iam just so excited about this project more than anything else in the BC community, maybe more than Excalibur have a cookie
-
no worries for the questions, and thanks for all the cookies.
Not thought to much about what we'll see out the windows. And to convert it for use within the game I would have to request a help on that front as would not have a clue where to start.
So if anyone is upto the challenge of converting it for BC use then please come forward.
-
here is the view from the rec deck
-
awesome
-
very cool! :)
-
Sweet. Actually forget sweet have a cookie instead :D
-
wow
very nice and fast work.
you deserve a cookie.
I hope we can find use for it :)
-
Started shuttle bay / Cargo bay
-
Man I can't wait to see this in excal. You've gotta release it :D
-
Nice work mate its looking better than rven i thought it would, cant wait to try her out and walk round it nice one
-
Started to model Photon Launch bay
No textures as yet
His was the most...polygoned.
-

The folks over at Elite Force Files could do several things with this. Create an actual mission level, or an RPG level, which means you can walk around and talk to various crewmembers, activate certain consoles, etc. Elite Force II has a large potrion of the Enterprise E interior that you walk around in between missions, it's where most of the main story unfolds. This would be an extremely well-received mod, or even just a set that someone over there can convert.
-
I would be very interested in turning this into a Halo 2 map :D!
-
All I can say is who ever wants it when I'm done is welcome to it for what ever reason they can make use of it
-
hager coming along not to happy with the colour scheme at the moment
-
Nice
-
Wow, great.
Just a little request: I've given a friend of mine a link to this topic and because he isn't registered here, he can't see the screenies. Could you upload them on rapidshare, please?
-
i'm not a memeber of rapidshare and do not wish to join up, feel free to save the pics and e-mail or post where you friend can see them
or have your friend join the forum it is free
-
Wow, great.

Off topic: Ask your friend to sign up here instead. Easier.
-
Thanks. (sometimes I think too complicated. Sorry for that)
-
done some more work on the lower cargo bay
-
:o AWESOME, just can't wait even more to walk in these rooms :D I agree color scheme must be lightened here tho ;)
-
Need a break from the hanger so started the Botanical Garden
-
This is just awsome. We'll end up with a whole connie by the end of the week :D
-
i cant believe how fast this is going and at the same time with such a high quality, the Botanical Garden is just how i imagained it would be, love the fact you can see the dry dock thru the windows. The cargo decks are looking superb as well deep and rich justl ike in the film. were u going to add a shuttle storage bay as well? Wow that is all i can say right now, stunning. have well earned cookie mate
-
Thanks for the encouragement.
My intention for the shuttle bay is to do the lot. You would be able to stand on the fantail section and go anywhere on the deck including the contol room
-
well went back in the shuttle bay today
-
Hehe amazing
-
http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/enterprise-deck-plans.php
I'm sure you already got these but if youre gonna go nuts here's the layout.
-
yes thanks have those, The only thing that was giving me grief was the colour scheme for the lower hanger. In the film it looks olive green, but in the instructions for the polar lights Enterprise and all the kits built by top modellers has the deck being silver/grey so trying to find a happy middle ground has been a little nuts. but I'm going with silver for now.
Thanks for your support
-
iv got the polar lights kit and i did mine olive green, it does suit it and i think it looks ok. That shuttle bay looks magnifisent mate it looks vast and you have given it scale which is one thing that always impressed me about the film, the sheer scale of things. cant wait to see it complete mate nice one :)
-
Fantastic! This is the best project I have ever seen. Can't wait to walk around the decks of the Enterprise in Bridge Commander. I think we can use this project for BC, so during the warp we can go for a walk in the botanic garden.
-
back to the garden. I was un happy with the whole garden so deleted it (not the room just the grass and river) and remade it
-
Nice, I wonder if we could drown Saffi in the water when she won't shut up?
-
here is the main structure for the airlock from TMP
-
opps forgot to attach pics
-
done some more work on the transport room
-
added some texture and an airlock to the torpedo bay
-
This is all truely amazing work!
-
Yep looks really great I can't wait till I walk through that airlock to inspect the ship :D not to mention how this will look in EF or even EF II :D:D:D
-
Man i'd just luv to see this in excal.
-
Re-texture it to suit the TNG era, and I'm sure it would work for Excal.
-
anyone who wants to do that is free to do so. I prefer the Kirk era that is why I'm making the original (And still the best) Enterprise.
I fail to see why the Excal community are so down on the 23rd Cent ships, after all there are some still around in the 24th. Perhaps a Constitution class refit brought out of retirement to fight the Dominion.
Are we going to see another shift after J J Adams's trek is released for the new look TOS ships?
Sorry about the rant just think people forget about the original 79 and 6 movies after being spoiled on TNG, DS9, Voy and Enterprise.
Long live Kirk and the boys and girls of USS Enterprise NCC-1701, Not A, B, C, D or bloddy E
-
I think it's just that they are setting Excal post Nemesis. I'm sure people will be making TOS and TMP era stuff for it as soon as it's released, and this will be a perfect addition.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of TOS and TMP though. I grew up with late TNG and Voy. Well, I say grew up, I mean watched occasionally :P!
-
Long live Kirk and the boys and girls of USS Enterprise NCC-1701, Not A, B, C, D or bloddy E
Lol! Nice reference to a good episode. :P
-
Ok back to topic.
The officers lounge is the last room I need to model from scratch unless anyone has any ideas for rooms not yet featured.
Work that still needs to be done: -
Shuttle storage and control room. Also Fantail doors need remaking (currently see through)
More greenery in Botanical Garden
Captains cabin (might copy and re-texture to make Spocks as well)
Engineering needs consoles and might see if I can add Radiation chamber
Torpedo room needs a front wall and further texturing
Sick bay need structure detail and consoles added
Airlock needs consoles and final texture details
Transporter room just needs side utility corridor adding
Corridors done
Bridge done
-
looks like you'll be busy. I'm looking forward to this, dude. Keep up the good work, your fast progress is amazing. :D
-
How about some quarters and some more corridors. You could fill in most of the decks that way by just coping them. Perhaps turbolifts and some labs would be cool.
-
well at least the crew will have somewhere to sleep now
-
That looks very nice. Good work!!! Btw, what 3d program are you using (max?)
-
yes 3D Max
-
How long have you been using it? I've got it but i've never given it a proper go. I'll have to start moddeling some ships.
-
I've been using it for about 8 years but only started to model with it in the last year
-
Even though we never saw them in the original Enterprise refit, I think some of the rooms visited on the -A would conceivably been in the 1701.
1. The officer's mess from Star Trek VI, perhaps retextured to fit the motif of the rest of the ship.
2. The observation lounge from Star Trek V, the one with the motto plaque, and the wooden ship's wheel.
3. A phaser or auxilary control room, such as we saw on the -B in Generations.
4. Use your imagination! What is the ship missing that the crew would need?
You are doing an excellent job, many accolades to you, friend!
-
4. Use your imagination! What is the ship missing that the crew would need?
A bathroom!!! :D :D :D
-
4. Use your imagination! What is the ship missing that the crew would need?
A bathroom!!! :D :D :D
QFT, FT-mutha-effin-W and cookied, appropriately.
-
There already is a bathroom in the captain's cabin. you can see the sonic shower in the pic, and the loo was going to be the next addition to the model.
The star trek V observation lounge is a nice idea but the TMP Enterprise showed it's own lounge in TMP. but since we only saw the back of it in TMP and in TFF the launge was at the front I'll see if the 2 rooms marry together.
I was never happy with the UDC's officers mess, it clearly the 1701-D's briefing room redressed, same with engineering.
I may use the 1701-A's junior crew cabin since this was not seen in the first 3 trek films.
Was also thinking of adding Jefferys tubes. Just concerned the model is getting big, and though still usable for my project.
Well keep the feedback coming
-
how about the quarters like Ilia used in ST:TMP
-
Ilia's quarters as with Spock's from TWOK is Kirk quarters redessed. Since that room is now complete it can be copied and customised for it crew member
-
I thought of one more room that we have never seen on the refit. Ship's Brig.
-
Yes we have, in ST: 5. Kirk, Spock and McCoy were held in it.
http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=80 (http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=80)
-
Yes and I believe it was the first time we saw a toilet in Star Trek complete with "Do not use whilst in Spacedock" label
-
I think I remember somthing about that. Now, I wonder why you can't go when in spacedock?
-
I guess it gets ejected from the ship!!!! would want to have that floating around out there
This is seriously heading off topic!!!
-
well not entirely. I still say you should make a bloody bathroom. LOL.
-
Hehe it is, but didn't Captain Archer say that they recycled crap to use as energy for the ship. I can't see why they wouldn't do it in the 23rd century instead of lugging it about with them.
About the rooms, how about one of those rooms in the warp naccelles like we saw in TNG?
-
Yes we have, in ST: 5. Kirk, Spock and McCoy were held in it.
http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=80 (http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=80)
What I am saying is that we have not seen what the brig would look like on 1701 compared to 1701-A since Spock said the brig on 1701-A was a brand new configuration compared to what might have been on the Enterprise Refit
-
The Constitution sure did get refitted a lot. :/
-

He'll have to improvise. However it's the closest that we've seen so it would be a logical place to start.
-
No loo yet but here the officers lounge, I have added the wheel room from TFF 1701-A
-
That is looking niiiicccceee. Cookie
-
some more detail in the wheel house
-
The wood looks nice. That was always my fav room on the refit connie.
-
wow
your work is really amazing and FAST
cookie ;)
-
Added a loo and a computer to capt's cabin
-
more work on sick bay
-
further detail added to engine room
-
The engine room's looking much better now. Have a cookie
-
The buttons on the computer in the captain's cabin are monstrous... there should be a lot more, and they should be about 1/3rd the size. Additionally, there are some smoothing issues going on in the "Loo", as you call it. Otherwise, everything is looking amazing so far.
-
Just... Wow...
Sir, you are amazing. This is absolutely beautiful! Though, everybody says we -can't- use it for BC, this is not entirely true. The fate of Immersion for BC is still in the air, and if it's decided that the portion completed IS released to us for BC and not just Excal, I can't think of a better first addition than this. Right era, and very fitting that the origins of Trek would be the origins of Immersions expansion.
I do agree that many seem to prefer the newer series, I for one enjoy them all, each has their own aspects. The original and the movies treated spacefaring more like cowboys, in a sense (Heck, when they find Scotty, he tells the same story). But the newer series represent a different era in themselves, and I think this was kind of purposeful.
Either way, your work is utterly amazing, and if I were to say exactly how much I love this, I'd be in big trouble with the mods. :funny I envy your ability, and hope that someday I'll be able to do something just as great! Keep it up!
-
The console in the captains quaters looks right to me, and iam loving the officers lounge. Is the loo were the captains log is produced, iam sorry bit to crude, love the work so far mate.
-
I agree about the captains console, Not happy with it myself so that will be changed
-
Is the loo were the captains log is produced,
Hehe, funny.
-
Sorry to say you'll have to wait for updates as I'm off on a business trip next week.
Construction will resume on my return
-
I'm back stand by for more updates
-
yay this is great news, loving the way this is taking shape. :D
-
now have somewhere to lock up those of you who are naughty
-
I love the new brig, much better than the one in s t 5, pus it keeps in line with the tmp feel, loving this mate keep it up.
-
thinking of adding a shuttle to the hanger that you can enter. Not sure weather to put a TMP shuttle or a more modern TFF shuttle?
-
Both would be better :D
-
Yup that brig is definitely better than TFFs brig in fact I think the only thing I liked about TFF was Ent-A bridge and crews lounge, oh and if this is early TMP period the we should consider TMP shuttles + ST3/4 shuttles only as type 3 (I guess that's the type) appeard only in ST5
-
what about a modified version of the tos shuttle, slightly sleeker but with the new nacells. a step between the TMP shuttle and TTF shuttle.
-
decided to go for a TMP shuttle to keep the theme
-
you gonna do the warp sled for it too?
-
not doing the warp sled as it will be in the hanger bay
-
It looks great so far mate, can i ask if your doing this based on the PL model kit, if you are then you have got it spot on, it looks excellent, cookie :D
-
I'm using ref pics from www.ex-astris-scientia.org
-
It looks brilliant mate, i cant wait to take a look inside this shuttle and the rest of the ship :D
-
started the shuttle interior
-
Verrrryyy nice. How do you do it so fast? I'm suprised the Excalibur team havn't recruited you.
-
I'd be very surprised if they weren't paying close attention.
-
yes, i agree. I am pretty sure, they do so. They HAVE to.
This work is .....no words.....excellent.
It definately has to be part of excalibur.
 I hope, everything we have, gets integrated in excalibur.
Again, gratulations to your work. I wished, i was able to make models like these :)
Keep on, i can't await to see your next screenshots
-
Looks like you have some verts to weld on the exterrior of that pod.
-
Unfortually it cant b part of Excal as it is set in post nemesis times. I still think it could make a great mod for BC, love the shuttle interior mate keep it up :D
-
Just cos it can't be in the initial release of Excal doesn't mean it can't be used. It would make and awesome mod for it.
-
After I have finished the shuttle I will add the control room to the shuttle bay and then that will be it.
I'll put the finishing touches to the rest of the models thus far and get it ready for release.
Any body who wishes the model to mod would they start to make themseleves known so we can sort out how to transfer the models.
I'm flattered that a few people would like to see this in Excal, but as I keep getting reminded Excal is post Nemesis only!!!! Lol feel that this is a little anal but hey it their game. Not sure I want them to use it now, after such a warm reception (joke). But Anyway I thank you all who have commented (even the picky ones).
Not sure what my next project should be yet, might do a Nemesis era interior lol. Or just a bridge.
-
Well, you could easily refit some of your models to be TNG era.
-

You never know, mate! There may be a use for it in Excal at some point! As for what next, a suggestion would be a bridge, as it'd be usable now. :P But they're your projects, so they're your choices! :) Keep up the brilliant work, and have a cookie.
-
Some exceptional work youve produced here, cookie for you
-
Does that mean, that the original release of Excalibur will only contain TNG era and post Nemesis ships and bridges?
Of course, it would be very nice to see it in a mod for BC, but somehow i doubt, that it will be possible to leave the bridge in BC within the next time.

As for nemesis era interiors, do the whole interior of something that's your own design. I'd love to see what kind of ORIGINAL works you can come up with. :]
Excalibur will likely have modding capabilities, as it's being developed by people in this community. The game itself is set in the Post-nemesis era, thus, the stock bridges, interiors, ships, etc, are all post-Nemesis... why have TMP stuff when it's completely wrong for the storyline? Much like Bridge commander, as I already said, it'll likely be open to modders, and thus content of all eras will likely be developed. Just because it's not of immediate use doesn't mean it won't make an interesting contribution in the future. Just hang onto it, refine and improve upon it over time, texture it, etc... and just keep improving on it until Excalibur comes out and you have a better idea of what the game is all about and what it could handle. Then make your decision.
-
Excal will be modifiable. That was one of the intentions. In fact it's intended to be more modifiable than BC.
-
I'm offering one last chance for people to submit their ideas for the model (not upgrade to TNG era!!)
Then I feel its time to finish the model.
-
Would you mind if I play around with the textures a bit when you release it?
-
you can do what you like with it afterwards, just as long as I get credit for the original mesh.
-
Guess I can't stop tinkering with it
Now how a nacelle room, based on the 1701-D's from "eye of the beholder"
-
Verrrryyy Nice
-
loving this new section, i like the fact that ur showing us things that we wouldnt of thought of
-
About the rooms, how about one of those rooms in the warp naccelles like we saw in TNG?
I said it a few pages back :D
-
Fantastic mod! I have a doubt: BC actually hasn't a mod to go through the decks, Walk FX make you able to walk on a carpet but I don't think that with Walk FX you can take the turbolift and go to the deck 12... So You have to build all the rooms on a single deck or you could use the "free float" version of Walk FX. What do you think?

So You have to build all the rooms on a single deck or you could use the "free float" version of Walk FX. What do you think?
if you read back you'd see that this mod isnt really going to work for bc. Period. Excalibur, maybe. But not bc.
-
has anyone got Movie era charactor models made? I have seen the main crew in the file section just wondered if anyone had done the other uniforms (engineers, crew man jumpsuits).
I have never made a charactor from scratch so this would be a short cut, and help would be great.
-
Try checking out the Sims2 community. (Not just the filefront one) They may have what you're looking for, may.
-
here are the crew I made in poser for my last film.
Captain Peter Kirk and Commander Saavik of the Enterprise B
Trouble is still learning poser and have gotten collison issues
-
What version of Poser are you using?
-
poser 7 the models are of the P6 bodies of James and Jessi
-
They look really good. Could these be used in BC?
-
They look really good. Could these be used in BC?
I was thinking the same thing, actually. BC is desperate for better crew models... personally, I'm so terribly sick of our current models...
-
The EF2 didn't look that bad but these are much better. I know it may be asking too much Baz, but it would be really cool if you could do TNG or VOY crew for BC.
-
I'll give it a go, but not sure when
-
Those are Poser models?
Then they are mostlikely (more likely than not) way too high poly for BC (or even EF2) use (mostlikely even too high use for NanoGE).
-
Would they actually work though, no matter how bad the frame rate is? They would be great for screenshots.
-
Um, let's see, Poser, and Max (or some other renderer) works in so called "offline" mode to do it's things. So no realtime stuff.
How long did it take to render those images? More than a second?
In that case, don't even think about it, by the time you have renderd it, and pressed PrintScreen, you will be way later than that moment. If the PrintScreen button even reacts.
And that's even considering BC won't commit suicide just by loading it. ;)
-
Agreed the render time for the figures is a few seconds for basic rendering (over a minute in firefly). They could be stripped down alittle but not by much.
As for the shuttle I started I'm not happy with so may drop it from the project as USS Prime is making one also.
I'm planning to release the Bridge either today or tomorrow to anyone who wants it.
where is the best place to upload these models for easy access, I was going to list them free on turbosquid.
-
You can upload them to Filefront. I've always got decent speeds from there.
-
Then it's very unlikely that BC will even load them. ;)
-
files uploaded.
Can't wait to see what you guys do with them
http://hosted.filefront.com/baz1701/
- video preview of bridge
-
Great vid, this bridge looks awesome, all that detail and texture. I will have a go with the bridge see if i can do nanything with it :D
-
Just to let you know Baz, i've nominiated you for modder of the months (june 2008) for this :D
-
Transporter room and corridor models now added to file front
would loved to hear feedback from you regards bridge
-
hey which version of max are you using?, cause i cant open it with max 8
is it possible for you to release it in a .3ds format?
-
I'm using Max 9.
I'll see if it converts to 3ds without losing the textures
-
have uploaded a 3ds version of the bridge. You'll still need the max file as it has the textures with the rar file
-
Did the 3ds version work?
Anymore feedback on those who have downloaded it?
-
well i tried to dl a programe to run 3ds but all i got was a programe for Max which i have already lol, just wish max 3d would load the textures, but even without the textures it looks stunning
-
3D max should open 3DS as I created it in 3D Max. You have to import the file rather than open. As for the max file some texture redirection maybe required but all the textures were included with the max download
So when you load the max file it states missing textures if you browse to for where you put the textures they should then load up. If they don't then unfortunatly you will have to reassign them!!!
-
which in itself is easy,
it just gets annoying cause it takes awhile.
-
Thanks for that baz, i havnt tried importing the 3ds versions so i will try that and if not i will just have to import all the textures seperatly, but it will be worth it
-
now I have the 1701-e started I will still treat this project as my main job till it done
-
1701-E? Aeries likey? Aeries likey a lotness? :D
-
1701-E? Aeries likey? Aeries likey a lotness? :D
Mirtha Class interior??? j/k :D
-
1701-E? Aeries likey? Aeries likey a lotness? :D
Mirtha Class interior??? j/k :D
Hmmmmmmmm.... ;)
-
Engineering and botanical garden now released on file front
-
Officers lounge and brig now uploaded
-
hey thanks, the 3ds version looks great, i'm gonna import it into blender and play with it
but it looks awesome
-
Cool can't wait to see what you do with it
-
i'll try to post some pics,
but i from a first glance, it may take some extra work,
cause for some reason the .3ds file has the room stretched wierd,
so i'll fix it up and then make it look nice,
but so far i am impressed :D
-
Last chance for a room request as I'm finishing this project this weekend.
-
Were you going to release the rec deck? Id love to see what the computer core on the tmp ent would look like :D
-
The rec deck is coming, it is the set that needs the most work. As for the Computer core I'll give it some thought and see if I can come up with something
-
i remembering reading mr scotts guide to the enterprise that there was an auxillary bridge located in the middle of the saucer where the computer core is situated
-
the aux control was seen during the TOS I've still got a copy of Mr Scotts guide somewhere
-
what about a weapons locker room?
-
I can think of some. The rear Airlock compartment behind the bridge, Cargo Transporter Room, Briefing Room, and CMO's office
-
Here's a thought. Though you've already released a lot. We saw a gally in ST:6 [the one that blew up. xD]
-
that was just the enterprise D's observation lounge re-dressed.
-
What about that kitchen from ST6. Thanks for giving us these sets mate, they are awesome, did u get my pm by the way?
-
I did thanks and have contacted them to see if they can use it.
-
Bridge now at 25 downloads, any feedback
-
that was just the enterprise D's observation lounge re-dressed.
So? :D Then YOU can re-dress it later if, say, you decided to do a Galaxy class interrior.
-
just putting the finishing touches to the 1701-E lounge that is almost the same as well
-
Just started to work on the rec deck, I'm using the DVD for reference and now see I have to rebuild most of it. But it will be worth the wait.
-
Rec deck re-fit coming along
-
:D Always like how the rec deck looked, It was one room on the Enterprise I wish we saw more of
Baz, I wanted to show you these figures I had been working on, in case you could use them sometime. I am still working on them, but I also wanted to get some imput from you. I used Aiko and Hiro from DAZ3d to make them.
-
NICE!
-
That's a cute little piece of Uhura, right there.
-
The crew is looking good have to send me the daz files when your done.
Only thing I'd point out is the trousers (Pants to our US friends) are too short and are in the TOS style, the flare shoulf be closer to the ankle but over than that they look great and can't wait to see them with there badges etc
-
The rec deck is looking awesome mate, it looks a lot better than the first one you did, cant wait to see how it looks when finished and is all put together
-
Rec Deck done and uploaded as file front
-
Haaaaaaa, nice addition with the NX 01 there, dude. xD
Looks pretty snazzy. :]
-
Hanger finished and uploaded
-
WOOOWWWWW!!!
Free-for-all map, anyone? or CTF!? :D
-
awsome job dude, cookie coming your way!
-
WOOOWWWWW!!!
Free-for-all map, anyone? or CTF!? :D
Aha. Also an EF player?
Great work, baz1701.
-
Quake. Only played EF/ef2 once or twice. Quake is love. Love is quake. Live it. Love it. 8) gimme mai rail gun!
in any case, I'm shocked at how fast this has all happened. great work.
-
Well those of you who wanted to inspect the old girl can now dock with the torpedo bay.
-
not to sound like a complete moron (which I am when it comes to this stuff) can all of this be loaded in the game or is it all just theoretical right now?
-
Not possible. BC would curl up and die if you tried to load all of these sets as one bridge. Way too many polies.
-
what about just the bridge, is it usable in game? if so how does one install it?
-
Here's a question related to the sets: How/From where does the torpedo get loaded onto the launcher? If there are magazines, I'd like to see them.
And the same is certainly true of the Sovereign class- I don't think I've ever seen any close up views of the torpedo systems, inside or out.
-
I believe we kind of saw the torpedo storage area in ST6.
-
I believe we kind of saw the torpedo storage area in ST6.
and 2, several times. As well as 3, when the Enterprise was going to be decomissioned and the staff were gathered in the loading/management room.
-
That is the only part mising from the torp set. As seen in TWOK the torp is lowered on to the skid at the start of the track and then moved in to the loading hatch at the far end. Listerning to Nick Myers on the commentry it was not a pratical set but a dramatic one.
-
Well, actually that would be quite practical, if-
1. multiple rounds could be loaded on to the launch rails at a time, thereby increasing the launchers rate of fire, and/or-
2. various types of devices could be launched through this system, allowing mixed loadouts to be utilized to increase tactical flexibilty.
-
Not possible. BC would curl up and die if you tried to load all of these sets as one bridge. Way too many polies.
Why load them as one bridge? Couldn't they be loaded as needed ... you go from one room to another in the same manner as transporting from one bridge to another? Only, instead of being "transported" from the bridge, couldn't you step into the turbolift? Once there, you transition to a different bridge ... except that every room is defined as a " bridge"?
And ... about TOS ships v.s. TNG universe: where does it say that a mothball fleet doesn't exist? Why can't civilians or merchant marines buy up old, mothballed Starfleet vessels?
-
Captains cabin, sick bay and the warp nacelle room uploaded. Just main airlock left to finish.
I will look at the other ideas later and add them when I build them
-
Airlock finished and uploaded.
Also I've added all the models into one big model. not all the corridors link to each other but you can turbolift between decks
Warning it is just over 20megs
-

That's basically one of the many, many things Immersion was going to do, the thing is, on it's own, BC doesn't seem to have any triggers on the bridge to allow this.
I believe you could not simply buy an old starfleet ship, in the same way you can't just buy an old aircraft carrier. (Plus, it takes quite alot of manpower to operate an old craft like, say, a Constitution, or dare I say, Excelsior.)
-
We did see loads of 23 cent era ships in the battle scenes in DS9 so plenty of these ships still in the fleet. Some one could go to town with the LCARS textures on my models to make them more 24th Cent looking
-
Your sets are unbelievable..and astounding..but there is one mistake made with the Torpedo room...there is only one of them not two. In Star Trek II when the travel pod docks "portside torpedo bay" kirk walks right out of the airlock and into the room. he then meets with Scotty and then procedes to the engine room for his inspection. Preparing for the battle in the Mutara Nebula, the Enterprise goes to full battle stations and the Photon Torpedo preload launch sequence is initiated so that the ship can simply fire her torpedos rapidly. The torpedo comes down from storage, travels down the ramp to the loading door, where it is then loaded to one of the two openings..as the Connie of course has two of them. the pre launch area can hold up to four torpedos for simaltaneous firing. I can see how this could be confusing because at the end of TWOK when the Enterprise fires spocks body into space he shoots from the portside tube. but he could just have easily fired from the starboard tube. There is an airlock on both sides of the torpedo bay. As referenced from the floor plans..
This picture shows the prelaunch sequence. Notice the hall way on each side that would lead to the airlocks
-
Hi, Normaly I'd agree with you but after pulling the deck plans for reference I discovered there are 2 bays in the torp room. Also one of the bloopers for TWOK has the bay 1 and 2 signs replaced for Bays 3 and 4!!!
-
Hey Baz, I don't know if you've finished work on this, but in TOS it is mentioned on screen that the enterprise has a bowling alley.
-
At the moment this project is on hiatus, but I will revisit it at some point. All the original models featured are released.
As I said on my Sov thread I need to see a use for these models as I don't have time to do them for fun. If some can show me a use and are developing them for something then I'll happily model what they want.
-
Started to animate my next film
In one scene starfleet troops will orbital sky dive from the tail of the enterprise.
-
Whoa!
Awesome idea! 8)
-

jeeeezus
that looks amazing and sounds even more [amazing]
-
Can't wait to see it. Cookie.
-
I feel like giving you many cookies! Great work!
-
just an update on the movie I was making with these models
-
Looking good so far
-
high quality work as we are used to.
great and good luck with your movie
-
Amazing work.
-
Want a high quality earth for it ? :P I've got one.
-
thanks but I have a high res Earth. I wanted it to be a alien planet hence the use of Dagobah.
But thanks anyway
-
Just out of curiosity, other than myself (see project above) has anyone done anything with this project files. The main bridge has been downloaded 44 times (2 in the last week alone).
I'd just like so feedback and to see someone else is getting some use out of this.
-
Since I've learned alot since doing this project would anyone be like to convert the bridge for the game if I re-visited it for a make-over / upgrade?
-
With the Trek XI Enterprise nearly finshed I have revisted my TWOK bridge. It was built a long time ago and learned alot since then so I'm re-vamping it. I have deleted all the consoles, re-built the view screen and the outer hull and started to smooth the seats.
Pics to follow.
-
not much to look at at the moment but alot has already changed
-
built the lift alacove.
-
dunno but isn't that set a bit too stretched ??? I mean there's too much space on it ... refit bridge looked a little cramped in TMP and was way taller IMO
-
The perspective is not shown right ( bit fish eyed) and the chair could be a little bigger.
-
oh if it is perspectives foult then ok ;) it just felt bigger than it really is
-
it is the same size as my last version, I'm building it around it.
-
todays updates.
Second lift door fitted.
helm console built
-
Nice bridge , there .
-
Very nice! Very nice, indeed.
I'd love to see a different captains chair though, that one doesn't seem like it's "the best seat in the house" to quote Trip.
Maybe something like the new chair: http://img.trekmovie.com/images/st09/st09_hr_kirkbridge.jpg (http://img.trekmovie.com/images/st09/st09_hr_kirkbridge.jpg)
-
It is a canon TWOK bridge not a trek XI bridge.
If I can get this one build and working in the game then I will be building more bridges until then I'm sticking to this one.
-
rebuilt weapons console / area
added science, comms and engineering stations
-
not bad, Ive always like this bridge, well realy any bridge. Oh forgot have cookie toooo.
-
it's coming along nice but im not sure of the layout. I found this picture some time back. I know its from the motion picture and not khan because of where the science station is but i do know that the bridge was still full of those stand up consoles.
-
way ahead of you. first stand up console in place and also fixed the error I made with the sit down consoles. and added the light ring.
-
sweetness, i hope if this one works out you might think of doing the reliant bridge too. They arent all that much different, just have to move some stuff around a little bit. I have a modified avenger doc mccoy did for me that i play with, so ive always hoped for an old style bridge.
I personally cant wait to see how it all turns out
-
if it works it can be "redressed" to form any of these bridges: -
TMP - Enterprise
TWOK - Relient
TSFS - Enterprise or Grissom
TVH - Enterprise-A
TNG - Enterprise-C, Enterprise-D battle bridge, Stargazer.
So as you can see this set got arround.
-
You sure about the Ambasador bridge?
Well, either way you did a great job so far. ;)
-
just double checked and the Ent-c was the second battle bridge set redressed.
-
all the stations are now mocked up just have to finish them off and add the little bits of detail around the bridge before I turn to textures
-
Wow this looks great :D I wish this could be portet for BC :)
-
Well you textures enhance the look
-
I had a quick shift of the funature around to re-config for the Reliant
-
:dance
sweet!
-
Last night I exported to nifskope and the model held up at least 80%.
So the question is does a bridge mesh have to be attached together to maintain odject position?
Also why do I get arrow type shapes appear after I convert to 3ds?
Still have to convert the textures to glow maps so they did not export either.
-

I take it you're exporting from something other than Max 3? If so, yes, as far as I know, everything needs to be a solid mesh to export correctly.
What do you mean by arrows? Can you get a pic?
-
the object highlighted was not there before I exported it to 3ds
I'm using Max 9
-
crew textures. I messed around with the default crew texture. Saved it as a TGA and put it into the game folders. All the men had grey bodys? Do you have to do the glow map stuff to them as well or is there a different step?
-
I belive the term is HELP!!!
I have converted my bridge to a NIF and I'm using the the enterprise-a bridge as its temp script.
The game crashed everytime I try to load the game.
1st an ideas?
2nd anybody able to take a look to see if there is something wrong with the NIF?
Thanks in advance.
-
Have you tried opening it with NifSkope, and comparing it to a working bridge? Just to see if it follows a (slightly) similar structure.
Also, have you tried removing all the references to locations and perhaps animations from the script?
-
Yeah, I said "use them as a template" in the PM :P. Don't copy them, as the EntA scripts were designed purely for that bridge.
-
is there any basic striped down script to get the bridge in the game without crew?
Just to see if it works and looks right?
-
If it shows up in the Model Properties Editor, it will probably work ingame with a fully functional script. You might try that, it's in the Bridge Commander SDK.
-
ok silly question, where is the model properties editor?
-
ok found it
I fI try loading the nif without a script (clicking no when prompted) nothing happens
If I say yes to the script and choose the enterprise A script (having edited the file name to match nif) the editor crashes like the game.
-
You should load a properties file in MPE for the script, not the bridge script itself. For example dbridgeproperties and not galaxybridge
-
The bridge should display even if you don't load a script, if the .nif file is working. I use MPE all the time for looking at bridge textures without going ingame.
-
I exported from Max as a 3DS. Imported into Nifskope, and straigtened everything up that shifted and repointed the textures.
I then saved it as a NIF. Is there a step I'm missing in the conversion?
-
I've uploaded my Nif file here, http://files.filefront.com/13266075 If anyone wants to review it and point out whats wrong with it that would be grand.
-
Bridge now working in MPE, and a breif appearence in the game before it crashes. Some scale issues to resolve.
-
it looks alright. I'd work on optimizing the chairs though. Particularly, I mean their flat surfaces. There's a *ton* of polies that can be gotten rid of. so long as you keep the edges nice and smooth with them as you have, i think they'd still look rather nice. there's a few issues here and there and one or two things i'd consider revising a little, but it doesn't look too bad. good work so far. :] keep on chugging along, dude.
-
I got some advise from Mark. He said that Nifskope does not work for bridges and you need to export via the official SDK exporter from Max 3.
I'm not sure I still have the CD for that as I've upgraded to Max 9.
Anyone with MAX 3 willing to convert to NIF for me?
-

It would be nice to see the Enterprise A Bridge from Star Trek The Voyage Home as that is quiet a unique Bridge and would make a great addition to Bridge Commander of course if it works. :) But Nice work on your bridge, one quick question are your building your main model there to be a replica of the Enterprise Bridge in The Motion Picture or Wrath of Khan?
-
Holy thread resurrection, Batman!!!
-
I think i know what that object that appeared is, it may be a root bone used for the scene, and exporing it as a nif from max 9 is never a good idea, as BC requires the bridge to be exported through 3ds Max 3.
also it generally isnt a good idea to res a thread Boulder if there isnt any relevant information or contribution to the topic, just bear that in mind for the future ok?
-
:newbie: :die: :picardfacepalm:
-
Lol this thread is well dead. I did complete the bridge and it was released last year. Check out baz1701 bridge sip for the current stuff.
-
I suppose I could make ST4 displays in near future but I'll wait until I have more free time...
