looks great but I think you are missing something on those phaser textures...

LOL take a closer look on the hull platings lines

much better I like those lines contrasting with hull, good work DJ  :D

you can even see the difference from distant.
the more contrasting version is very cool.
slightly changed but with a big effect.

About the phasers.. I don't know how accurate this would be for the Galaxy, but assuming the very center of the strips is a single polygon section, you could map it to a slightly different shade of grey, without the stripes.  Would provide some contrast, and add definition without adding any new faces.

That's how the Sov's phasers are anyway, although they're more angular, and the upper face of each array isn't smoothed over.

Pretty sure the Galaxy Phasers are just plain as in the show....... but doesn't mean that the ship can't have upgraded ones if DJ wants to express some sort of artistic view of his!

nope the galaxy phaser have indents in the center you can see it on some shots.

Some pics of how the saucer is shaping up.  Obviously this isn't how it will look in BC as this has bump mapping.  However, it shows you well enough where the panel lines are.
