Either version 1 which I think was the Wolf 359 physical model or version 3 which was seen in Sisko's ready room.

But I'll let you guys have the final say on which one should be modded!!.

I say v1, because I always liked how the little nacelles stick up over the primary hull. Also, we already have enough pods.

I think v3 looks better but, v1 is more logical if the saucer separates and needs warp capability... so, v1 is my vote.

Got to agree there. I always thought the little nacelle's looked weird, sort of a scaling conflict with the bigger ones.

I don't know that tapered aft section looks pretty unique to me.

It's easier said than done, that would be two more models and additional textures to a large ship pack already. And the truth is I want to get these ship released so you can all play 'em!! 8)

Personally I didn't want to do any of them as all the melbourne variants are butt ugly.... plain and simple!!

I say release the regular Nebulas now and then do the 3 prototypes for a V2 pack. But thats just me though ofcourse.

I completely agree! I've always thought the Melbourne variants were as you said "butt ugly".

Nearly as ugly as the Galaxy X :lol: Which IMO takes the cake.

Update time folks.

I've completed my first pass at the Melbourne model, despite being a butt ugly ship I think it's looking ok. Several changes have been made compared to the Nebula, here is a list of the changes.

1) Stretched secondary hull by about 25%, and added a hull panel above shuttlebay 2 and an aft torpedo launcher added to the spine on the secondary hull.

2) Added scaled down Nacelles and pylons, scaling about 50% to original size.

3) Dorsal saucer retextured to add extra windows which are similar in placement to the Galaxy Class.

The role of the Melbourne is a Heavy Cruiser which has been enhanced specificly for missions of Diplomacy but also proves useful as a command ship.

The Melbourne has a higher top speed and is more maneuverable than the Nebula, but a reduced photon torpedo capability which is offset by stronger phaser arrays as the ship is powered by two warp cores. this ship also has a considerably shorter sensor range than the Nebula.

Personally, i'd rather see a brand new "pod variant" on top of the "pylon" holding the two nacelles in place on this Nebula variant, instead of the two nacelles. Those small nacelles on such a big ship looks really bad tbh

I agree that the nacelle variant is strange. Perhaps the ship was an experimental vessel for saucer seperation or a courrier of some kind?
