Just an idea you might not be able to do it cus of the poly count being to high, but what about adding a set for the rec deck in and also the vip lounge. just an idea but as i say might not be posible

For the most complex shapes, FFD modifiers will be your friend.  Always build parts in pieces and don't connect them together until you are pleased with the final shape.  I plan to make the other TMP ships that use the same Connie components if I have time.

I really wish you or one of the other goods of modeling would do a short tutorial in this, Secondary hulls are my weak point.

I can add the vip lounge in the bridge module.  I need to rebuild the bridge module anyway.  I could add the rec deck in the saucer(probably will).  Don't worry about reference images, I have plenty of them.

Good idea on the tutorial, I'll try to make one.  Hmm, how does basic starship construction sound?

Sounds great to me, I learned alot from Marks saucer and neck tutorial. Then perhaps a photoshop one to ship how you make such amazing textures.

Maybe it is just me but I sense a trend here. First I make a JJPrise then Wiley follows suit, I start a spacedock then Wiley follows suit! And I make a Connie re-fit and Wiley follows suit. I'm sensing a pattern here. I'm looking forward to his Phobos lol.

Seriously Good work on the Connie, I hate you :D

It happens a lot, I'm sure.  Look at the fan CGI JJPrise, first MadMan1701A made one, then Tobias Richter started his.  Of course, Tobias' JJPrise is made of pure win, but that's beside the point.  The point is that Wiley's work doesn't render your's obsolete baz.  I look forward to pitting the two JJPrise's against each other.

What you guys did do is make my only mod obsolete. :P  Not that that's a bad thing. :D  Oh, and before I forget, cookie for Wiley for this gorgeous ship.

Sorry for the Off Topic, but who is this Tobias, his name sounds familiar.

Tobias Richter is the person who built the awesomely detailed USS Kelvin, and got noticed by JJ Abrams for doing such a nice job.

He's amazingly talented. On SFM, he's also got a "pluto station" WIP. It's absolutely amazing. [pretty sure we're talking about the same person?]

Thats a lotta polies. You could probably make a couple of shuttle with half of them.

I have not removed any hidden faces/shapes, so that's why the polycount is high.  C'mon, it's the Enterprise, it has to look awesome.  Plus, it's all about texture size than poly-size that affects gameplay.

All that I can suggest for her is to chamfer the edges of the neck and *maybe* torpedo launcher a little bit to keep the lines nice and smooth... other than that, and even without that, it looks to be the best Connie we'll ever have.

If you give your Connie Refit, the following, I'll give you a cookie for the next 20 posts you make.

-TMP FTech warp warm-up for the engines. See Adonis's Ashton for this tech.
-Enterprise refit textures
-Enterprise-A textures on a 'copy and pasted' seperated model.
-Blue deflector during warp only for the first Enterprise refit
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I meant 2 refit connie models. Both the model you have made but one with the first refit textures seen in The Motion Picture and one with the Enterprise-A textures seen in the movies after The Voyage Home but before Generations.

They may look the same but there are significant differences.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.
