Lol ur right they where a pain in the butt, their built now mind, I just need to unify, clean and sort the smoothing groups, got them done really low poly too without loosing detail etc.

That's a good looking mesh.

Thanks mate, creating clean meshes can be a pain but when ur done, you know you have done a great job and it should work excellently.

WickedZombie warned me about that a loooong time ago. That's the part on my one that took most the time to model. The shape is (in a lack of a better word) confusingly complex. I actually had to rebuild parts of it because every time I'd look at the ref pix, I'd find some new structure I didn't saw there before...ugh...

The nacelles are a royal pain in the butt, just like the fantail.

Everyone has there own method of building them. I sure Mark's will complement the rest of this excellent ship.

As previously stated in this thread, the necelles are a real pain to get right, that coupled by the fact that I want to keep them low poly as possible, at the minute each necelle weighs in at 700 poly's so like 1400triangles, when they are finished im expecting 1200 on each. Need to add detail and smooth them out etc.

Forgive the posting of pics on your thread but quickest way to point out what I see.

It appears there is alittle cylinder missing between the bussard and the hump

Thanks dude, more necelle work.. still very low poly which im happy with.

Still have some more detail to add, then I really need to clean them up a little more, have not sorted the smoothing groups yet. . its getting there, overall, have about 15% more work to do on the mesh, before i begin to map, and then on the side start sketching the concepts for the TNG CONNIE  8)

Nacelles are still missing the blue "ball" just above the bussard area. You've made a great mesh thus far, but this is one detail I think you've missed out on adding :P

"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Man, and I thought the TOS Constitution engines were difficult to model!

*Listens as everyone around him laughs*

Shut up!  I'm a n00b at modeling and you know it!  :arms: :P

Anyway, this is looking great.  I think you might want to increase the number of polys on the bridge module, though.  It seems to be suffering a bit in that area.

I love that you are continuing with the TMP Connie. I can't wait to see your concept of a TNG Connie.
