Saber/Oberth: actually, if you yank that eng hull off and flip the support over...it'd make a good post nemesis Miranda type, too...or yank everything but the nacelles.  i'm liking the Suacer shape, personally.

if you wanna throw the gag around, use the first part of the Scientific name.

how about USS Carbuncle?  something that also pops up is one of the terms related to Rubies, Emeralds, and Sapphires (assuming that this is a mini of the Diamond class)

the Remora is from the FASA roleplay era, when that company held the Star Trek licence.  i think it was the only sucessfull RPG version.

Vonnegut-Class[/b] Frigate
U.S.S. Vonnegut
NCC 71244

A Vulcan "Defiant-Class"-meets-"Intrepid-Class" variant advanced scout concept with severely reduced tactical profile and a prototype "Dauntless"-inspired Q.S.S. system. Designed by a Tellarite Engineer to be able to defend itself from Jem Hadar bug fighters, to Romulan Norexan-Class attack craft, to Klingon birds-of-prey with a scarcely-legal holographic masking system. A "Duck Blind" / "Infiltration" / "First Contact" vessel that has the ability to land / lift-off with ease.

I love the Griffin-Class. Any updates to that one?

hi thanks for the post :)

how do you pronounce your ship name lol

and the screen capture you showed is not the griffin class this is the griffin class below... the one you showed is a combination of the griffin, defiant and nova... it was an accident but i liked the way it looked lol

Any finished renders of the "Chimera"? I'd like to have it for my site.

Maybe an "alternate" (nightmare) future version of one of my already existing hero ships.

Thirty five years after "Star Trek: Nemesis", The Dominion are back, but this time, they're hungrier than ever before. Especially since getting cornered by (first) The Borg (right as the Caeliar show-up to absorb the Borg,) leaving them momentarily vulnerable to The Hur'q and other opportunists. The Borg are assumed to be gone but so are the Dominion's homeworlds. Their ketracel white facilities are gone. The Jem Hadar are awakening to their independence and telling off The Founders. Others are remaining loyal but only out of fear of the truth.

The Dominion's ore mining facilities are being hijacked by formerly subjugated races. The races once ruled with an iron fist are quickly figuring out how to use the hardware left on dead bodies and dismantle the Vorta cloning facilities or use them to engineer their own societies. Planets are being governed by a population that needs to eat and sleep, -- a population far outpacing resources. Federation (& other) dissidents are hearing about their problems and factions are gathering strength. Starfleet & The Federation are only just keeping pace, partnering Veterans & Cadets to build/maintain and fly the newest Frankenstein/Mothball Fleet ships.

i like your "nightmare" future :) especially the bit about having veterans and cadets together... makes sense and should be used in "prime" time line after all the lost ships during the dominion war.

and how about the  Aberration-Class ?

I'd consider using a flat ovular (ie: Intrepid-Class) design. The bridge would be a slightly-refurbished Defiant-Class module with reconfigured LCARS/M.S.D., or a museum ship (NX-Class) bridge that's been salvaged by "Project: Homefront" & refurbished with 2390's M.S.D. / LCARS. The TNG Relaunch-era equivalent of a TMP-era Eagle-Class.

I think the Abberation-Class would be ok, if the Nova-Class nacelles were removed.
