A shuttle bay could go there, but the ships per-pus is combat warfare so placing it there would leave it to exposed.

What about bomb bay doors and drop them like the defiant and NX-01?

For your shuttlebay, I'd suggest bringing back the size and shape of the secondary hull in this pic and adding the deflector striping to that.  Then the shuttlebay can go at the back of it.

or how about using the "nose" as a shuttle bay?

No, the nose of the ship is its main deflector. Nice idea thoue. And the top ship you guys are refering to  was the old ship.I didn't like the lower hull on her.

Yep, they are. I believe that a slip stream combat ship should have some redundancy such as the main deflector and secondary deflector bands. I also think, or would like to see further development of the deflector bands in more classes of ships. I think i'll further explore this in any new ships i develop. :thumbsup:

Redundant deflectors would definitely make sense in a slipstream vessel, possibly one of them is devoted specifically to calculating the slipstream?

From those pictures, I've noticed that the saucer doesn't perfectly merge with the nacelle bussards.

Not sure what you mean there bud?

Here is an update on the Exia or Nexus[ see poll above}

I think i finally worked out the shuttle bay. Located aft of the secondary hull, i beleave that its loaction will protect it from a great deal of fire in combat. Let me know what you think? :thumbsup:

If you look at the 4th pic of the Beagle, you can see the bottom of the saucer just passes through the bussard collector.
