Well, what would you call it then? Cryptic favouring US citizens, and disallowing everyone else from participation. Maybe racist was the wrong word used, but it still doesn't make it right. Just because Star Trek originated in the US some 40+ odd years ago, doesn't mean Star Trek or it's fans are limited to the US.

I call it over-zealous lawyers. There are competitions over here all the time that exclude the Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man from participating even though the item to which the competition entry is attached is distributed there as well.

Though if you insist on giving it a name, its xenophobia.

besides its CBS, Intel plus some other company doing the contest, STO is just the medium. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the CBS that came up with the idea.

I'm Canadian, FYI. So I'm not being one sided on this. We can't enter the contest either. I'm just defending Cryptic against something that is not their fault.

Yeah, Cryptic has a lot less to do with this than some of you appearently think considering that its intels site, prizes and everything else.

I mean come on think about it. Would you rather deal with a thousand miles of red tape or five trips around the equators worth? Gee I think I know which option im going with if im CBS/Intel/Cryptic.

The submissions are not being moderated, since you simply post and they are there. The winners are most certainly going to be moderated. Report anything you feel is stole or inappropriate.

I recieved a private message from one of the STO forum admins on the moderation of the contest. After a long chain of "Oh, you should talk to XXXXX".

The entries are not moderated before they are posted, however those working on the contest do sweep the entries from time to time; deleting vulgarity, stupidity and such. Sadly, they cannot get through all the entries every time, and some people are constantly re-uploading these vulgar/stupid/childish images. The Picard-Head ship, they have left up for the time being, because they say it's amusing.

Thank you for taking time to look into the working of this contest Tai Juin, as many people are simply complaining about it without aquiring all the facts. Your suggestion on the modified report system (I.e. Short text box to state the reason) has been suggested in a meeting and passed on to the web team.

Well that's good to know, nice that someone cares.  Also, I'm in the highest rated tab, and at least half the stuff above me is spam, so yay!

Don't forget highest rated means that an entry with 1 vote of 5 stars will score higher than one with 50 votes of 5 star and one vote of 4 stars.

Oh, any chance of finding out who this guy you talked to is?  The first thing on the highest rated tab now is the Insignia, and I'm pretty sure its being plagiarized.
