Wouldn't that kill every BC install out there?

It all really depends how many polies there are. And at the end of Season 4, the Worldship despite having twenty worlds all connected around a sun didn't seem much bigger than a planet. I may aim for Starbase size...

Yeah, but I mean, there are all this Planets = Spheres and the sun, which all need an appropiate Policount to look spherish (sp?) from "battledistance", not to mention the Conections between the worlds. I think that would be somethink like "30k +" polys. definitly too hard for my pc.

Well, I am a complete noob so we'll just see what happens :D.

Edit: Well...hehehe, I'm still figuring things out.

If you really get it into BC, you could replace the Sun with a NanoFX Blinker - Sphere (like the Ori Warships Energycore in the last SG pack )

Edit: BTW. is that Milkshape? If so I'm even more impressed by the Andromeda!

As for size it doesnt really matter that much. The max scale which we've been able to get in bc is pretty bloody big. As some people know that we've got a transwarp hub full scale & the borg unicomplex * they're huge, biggest ship/station in bc so far! I dont know how big this world ship is because i never really followed Andromeda, but im sure you can go bigger than a federation starbase. ;)

Try this for size.

Dead easy then. Just look at the borg cube to that.... If 1 cube fits in 1 of the 29 conduits it just shows the sheer size that the transwarp conduit is.

I haven't seen enough to know how accurate that is, but it looks neat.

I don't have to shoot my Milkshape! It's amazing what you can find on the right mouse button :D. Of course, now you can see the some of the size problem. The planets need to be way smaller.

IIRC the sun on the Worldship was quite small, could have been the camera angle I suppose.

Well, apparently, it is meant to be the size of a small solar system.  But the planets still need to be smaller.

Update: Heres the revised version and a picture of the actual MWS.

I wonder if you can use a normal BC sun instead of a NanoFX blinker, would probably be more realistic.

Probably would, but the poly count would go up a bit more.
Saving on polies should be your first prority if you want a model of this size to run with minimal lag. A ginat NanoFX2 blinker, textured to look like a sun, sounds more feasable to me.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

*pretends to understand what everyone has said* Blinker...can't those be hardpointed on?

Anyway, I've managed to get round to adding the pylons that linkthe planets together. It looks boxy I know but I'm still new to this game. I'll figure out how to curve them eventually.

The best way is to use better software :arms:

Looks great so far by the way :D
